REVISED.

Maybe people were not as bad as you think. They might have been a lingering feeling of darkness and loneliness that eats them up, and one way to deal with it was to put the burden to another's shoulder. Another way to deal with it was to suppress it up, let it swallow you as a whole, and lose every last traces of a person from the past. Either way, both of it was harmful and destructive on its own.

Pain and time shaped us to what we are today. In Yeri's case, that might probably be the case. The word pain contained so much meaning within it to behold. Might it be the pain of the scraped knees when you tripped to that tiny rock like a complete idiot, or the pain brought by the people when they laughed and discriminated you, might it be the pain when you just broke up with your boyfriend with some unresolved issue, perhaps the pain that scarred you for the rest of your life, cannot be cleaned, fixed, taped or healed. Worst case is, you've got nothing to do but to live with the scar tattooed on your heart. Pain is such a common word for people to affect one's life. But sadly, it does. Just like when how your taste and mood changes when your tongue got burned by the heat of the freshly-cooked soup.

The cafeteria buzzed around, as usual. People wearing various clothes, some looked tacky, some looked sexy, but most of them looked pretty much normal. Yeri was with her friend — partners-in-crime, twisted sick in some kind of way and was not your typical goody-two shoes friendPark Sooyoung.

"Hey. Why are you so quiet? That's so unlikely of you." Sooyoung started as she chewed the food. She looked at Yeri in the most disbelief way, weirded out that her friend is too quiet than her usual self.

Yeri leaned her chin on her palm, sighing. "I'm thinking of dropping out school.

Sooyoung, or Yeri liked her to call, Joy chuckled. The black-haired girl put her spoons and fork down and stared at her. Joy gaped at her in shock and disbelief. Her eyes widened in glower and her hands lifted to hit the uninterested Yeri, "Are you serious?"

The short-haired girl sighed again, "I'm just considering it. If my parents won't get out of their messed up worlds, maybe it's time I would adjust for them."

Joy pressed her lips in a thin line, "Our house is always open for you, Yeri."

"Ugh," she let out an exasperated breath. "I can't leave them. I would, but I can't. My sister..."

The taller one cut her off, "Oh. Let me rephrase that. Our house is always open for you and your sister, Yeri. Besides, it's time you get out of that hell. It's been a rough 16 years for you, though."

"Even if I did, Joy. My father, you know very well what can he do if we even tried. It's a hell I can't break free from."

A certain human has its own breaking point and Yeri finally happened to reach her one.
