"Where was Jieun?" Her deadbeat mother, Hwayeong, was the first thing to welcome her in the morning. Her father was not here from some unknown reasons. It wasn't good sight for little Yerim who have just finished having her mental breakdown.Yeri did not answer. Not even a heave of reply. She walked straight past her mother without uttering a word an grabbed her bag from the rack. Why else should she waste time on her mom who only enjoys alcohols and drugs?
"Answer me, Kim Yerim. Where's your sister?" Her mother sternly said.
Yeri pulled back her arms from her Hwayeong's grasp, "You don't even know where's your daughter. And don't touch me by that dirty hand again."
Before anything, a hand grabbed a handful of her hair and pulled her once again in a harsher way, "What did you say again?"
Yeri grimaced. Attempting to break free from her mother, "Did you not hear a word I said?" She gritted her teeth as she pushed Hwayeong from her.
"Tell me where is she!" The mother snapped.
"I don't know, okay! And why do you even care? You want something from her? Money? Go fucking find her because even I don't know why and where she ran away!" Yeri shot back. Her ragged breathe was apparent, both from struggling from her mother and from the emotional outburst she promptly had. "Okay? Even I don't know why she left me here."
Hwayeong stopped in a trance, stared at her in confusion as she asked, "Ran away?"
"Yes! Ran away, hooray! You wanna know why? Go ask your stinky breath, your alcohols, your drugs and your cheating husband," the short-haired girl ran outside as one by one, her tears fell down.

"Yeri? You look... horrible," Joy looked at her friend's face, scrutinizing every part of her messed up face, "Oh my." She heaved under her breathe as she gently pat her hair, "Did you... did you even comb your hair— I mean, look."Yeri managed to crack an exhausted smile. "No, Joy. Thank you but don't bother," she continued walking across the hallway.
"Were you... were you crying? I can see the redness in your eyes!" Sooyoung asked as she followed Yeri, "Yesterday you were so quiet and now, you just look horrific— not, in a good way, but in a really really bad way."
"I took drugs, just like my mother," at this point, Yeri can't even believe she can crack a joke like nothing really happened at all. It's quite amazing of her.
Joy scoffed, "Come on! Was that a joke? It's not a good joke, okay? It's really not. Now, tell me what the heck is going on."
"Sooyoung, I'll tell you everything later but not at this time. Lunch, I promise. I'll tell you. Now go, it's already class hours," Yeri stopped as she arrived at the doorstep of her room.
"Alright but one last question," Joy held her index finger up to gesture her one last—hopefully—question. "Have you done any homework at all?"
Reality started to hit Yeri. All she did last night was to cry like a baby and what she did this morning was to have a little banter session with her mother. I am neither a drama actress or a heroine of a story, I am just a high-school fucking student.
"Holy shit," Yeri facepalmed herself, "Nothing at all."
Joy grinned and fished something from her bag. A folder with a paper of what seemed like a printed document inside it, "I asked your classmate your assignments and made you one. I knew something was going on and I figured you would be occupied the whole night. You're welcome and consider this as a debt and you're going to tell me what the hell is happening later for your payment."
