Dalton was here. He had elongated his stay, stating he was on a short artistic vacation to incubate his talent.

Initially, I used to hate his presence and everything he touched; but now things were changing fast; he was changing.

Although, he had shed his dark side, but still he wore that dark leather coat of his snide remarks; like he was wearing now.

He looked cute in that. He was very distracting.

I gently placed my head on my hands, as I watched him play with Taylor.

He was chasing her as she circled around the birch tree.

"Gotcha!"

He pulled her in his arms and whirled her around, as she squealed.

"If looks could kill then the glass would have had turned to ash by this time"

I jumped at the sudden voice.

"What do you mean?"

I asked, both panicked and annoyed; annoyed because she had disrupted my work.

"Somebody had to tell you honey. You were staring way too hard at him"

Madison said arms crossed across her chest.

I blushed.

Was I staring that badly?

"I have been standing her since past five minutes and you didn't even notice me because you were busy-"

"Staring"

I said rolling my eyes.

"It's only matter of time before everyone else notice"

She said sitting on my bed.

"Why don't you tell him about your feelings?"

"What feelings?! I have no feelings"

Or did I?

"Honey..."

"Hey girls!"

Dalton said bursting through the doors. His blond hair swept back and tiny sweat beads on his forehead.

"Hey"

Madison said getting up from the bed.

"I'll leave you two"

She said going out of the room.

"Mad-"

"Let her go. I have something for you"

He said sitting next to me on the floor.

He handed me a letter.

"Read it"

He encouraged me.

Dear Dalton,

It is Autumn. The leaves are turning brown and falling. My health is comparable to these leaves. When the last leaf falls, I'll no longer be here to witness the winter. Time flies by, really fast when you don't want; and really slow when you want.

After I'm gone I would like you to move on and not hang on to the sad side.

When you come here, you'll meet a girl filled with positivity, she will see through despite your ruff side.
I like her a lot, after you, she feels like a daughter to me. She is scarred like you, pained like you, you'll need her as much as she needs you.

Your Aunt Clifford

"Do you know who she is?"

I asked, tears streaming down my face.

I inertly wished that, the girl was me.

"Let me think..."

He said, eyebrows knitted, tapping his finger on his chin, deep in thought.

"I think it's Madison!"

"Oh.."

It was all I could manage, I could feel my heart breaking.

"Dalton I need some privacy right now... If you could just leave..."

I said staring at the floor.

The tears brimming my eyes fearing to escape any second.

Without a word he got up and walked to the entrance. I got up and followed him.

I saw Dalton turn around.

Within a second, I was pressed to the wall.

Dalton was caressing my face, his finger gently tracing the outline of my lips.

"Silly! That girl is you. And I can't stop throwing myself on you"

I closed my eyes, waiting to feel his lips against mine.

"Chloe!"

Taylor squealed on the doorway.

"Oh! Hey Taylor!"

I said pushing away Dalton.

I couldn't let a ten year old see me making out with a guy.

That would be corrupting.

I heard Dalton growl under his breath as he moved his hands through his hair, totally annoyed.

"I'll see you later"

He got out of the room, his face oozing disappointment and annoyance.
