Calix P.O.V.
White walls.
Liquid dripping.
Throbbing pain.
Fighting.
Crying.
"What are we supposed to do now?" I heard my mum cry out quietly. I could already see my dad wrap his arms around her, holding her closely to him.
"He's safe, that's all that matters. God has protected him, just as we have prayed." I heard his deep voice whisper.
"Is he going to wake up?" I heard my little sister ask my younger brother.
"I know he will, he's a fighter." I heard him say.
"Yeah, he'll wake up because he's a fighter." I heard my cousin repeat my brother.
My head was throbbing, making it impossible for me to think straight.
"Calix, wake up." I heard my girlfriend whisper.
My eyes fluttered open, only to find the room full of my family. I scanned the room, Blithe wasn't in here.
"Calix!" My mum cried out while hugging me tightly. "We were so worried."
"Where's Blithe?" I asked when she pulled away. I watched as her face turned pale, a weird expression coming onto her face. "Mum?" I whispered.
******
"You're messing with me right?" I whimpered. "Please say you're messing with me." I begged my family.
"Calix, I'm sorry." my cousin whispered.
I turned to her, she looked somewhat relieved rather than sorry. "You guys seriously have to stop saying that you're 'sorry'." I growled. "None of you will ever go through what I'm going through."
"Calix," I heard my little sister whimper. Lynn stared at me with my family's signature blue eyes, confusion and saddness painted on her face. "I miss her too. She was also my friend."
"I know." I whispered while holding her to me.
I looked over towards Jack, my younger brother, but he wasn't there. "Where's Jack?" I asked.
Right on cue, he walked back into the room. He had Serena behind him, her face stained with tears. Serena looked just like her younger sister Blithe, both of them had huge brown eyes and black hair. Blithe had softer eyebrows, while Serena had dark bushy eyebrows. Serena had a big nose, but Blithe had a small slightly turned up nose. Blithe had pure black hair that changed in the sunlight, but Serena's hair had been dyed repeatedly.
"Serena." I whispered. "Please say you guys are just pranking me." I begged her.
She shook her head, "Calix, she's really dead." she choked out. "Blithe is dead."
Blithe aka: the girl of my dreams, my best friend, my girlfriend, my storm watching buddy.
Blithe was dead.
Blithe Wilson, was the one who got away.
