Blithe's P.O.V.

The fat rain drops pelted down against the concrete, hitting the worms that were attempting to get up and squirm around. I chuckled quietly, yet I felt bad as they retreated back into the grass for safety.

His hands gently knead my shoulders, trying to get me to relax. His breath trailed down my cheek, making me blush. I felt his chest raising and falling against my back, making me sleepy. I slowly stood up, stretching. Calix walked over to my porch swing, plopping down on it. He had stretched out, taking up most of the space. I followed him, snuggling up against him. His arm was draped around my waist, holding me to him. We had propped up a pillow, allowing us to rest our heads. I felt his lips pressing against the back of my hair, but I didn't say anything to embarrass him.

Ever since we had gotten closer again, he would come out and watch the storms with me. I secretly loved his company, but I never let him know that I enjoyed it so much.

He never really got why I loved storms, I loved how they washed away everything. I loved the sound that the raindrops made when they plopped against the window pane. I loved how it smelled outside, the dewdrops fresh on the grass. I loved how the rain felt against my cheeks, covering up my tears.

"Blithe, I gotta go." I heard Calix whisper into my ear. I moved, allowing him to crawl off of the porch swing. The swing rocked gently, lulling me to sleep. I felt Calix's lips being pressed onto my temple. "Sleep tight." he whispered before pulling a blanket onto my body.

"Calix?" I whispered before he walked away.

"Yes, babe?"

"I'll miss you." I heard myself say.

Calix paused, before letting out a slight chuckle. "I'll miss you too."

His fingers pushed back my black locks, making me feel all tingly inside. When his fingers finally left my face, I felt cold and lonely. I heard his footsteps receding, then his car door slamming shut. His car's motor filled my ears, before they drove off and left me in the dust.

I laid there, listening to the storm. I remember that Calix always would laugh and say that I had an obsession with storms, even though I would pout and poke him, we both know it was true. I had an obsession with storms.
