Blithe's P.O.V.
"Blithe! Calix is here!" my sister shouted. I checked my reflection one last time, flashing myself a small smile. I grabbed my white beanie, quickly pulling it over my hair. As I walked to my front door, I grabbed my black Coach bag and pulled it over my shoulder.
"I'll be back." I said in my Terminator voice.
"Get out of here and snog Calix's face!" she laughed at me.
"Oh, shut up!" I laughed at my sister whilst slamming the door. As I walked down my sidewalk I pulled my black leather jacket onto my body.
I climbed into Calix's car, buckling up quickly. I looked down at my black and dark blue floral dress, tugging it further down. He slowly pulled out of my driveway, pulling into the highway.
We sat in silence, the tension was so thick that it made it hard for me to breathe. Well, it was either the tension or the words that just left Calix's mouth.
"What?" I squeaked out, trying to make sure I heard him right.
"I think it'd be better if we were just friends." he repeated, frustration tinting his voice.
"Why?" I asked, confusion covering my face.
"It doesn't matter." he muttered, clearly trying to avoid the subject.
"Why?" I asked again, anger tinting my voice.
"I- we're- I-" he stuttered, trying to make up a lie. "I cheated on you, okay?" he finally spat out. I heard a smacking sound, as his hand smacked himself in the face. I watched as his hand ran down the face that I had kissed so many times before. I quickly turned, taking time to proccess what the love of my life had just told me.
"You cheated on me?" I whimpered from the passenger seat. I didn't dare look over at him, I already knew in the tone of his voice that he wasn't kidding. "With who?" I finally asked.
"Does it matter?" Calix muttered angrily.
"Yes." I replied curtly. Why was he the angry one? I should be angry instead.
"It doesn't matter anymore."
"What the crap are you talking about? It matters to me." I ran my shaking hand through my black hair. "I just want to know what I did wrong." I whispered.
Calix was silent for awhile, thinking deeply. "Everything." he said after a moment of silence.
"I did everything wrong?" I repeated.
He grunted.
I felt something come over me, not anger but something much stronger than that. "God," I laughed, as I wiped a tear away. "I knew I shouldn't have lost my virginity to you." I shook my head furiously, I was literally on the verge of breaking down and sobbing in front of him.
"Well, you know that I wanted till marriage to have sex." Calix muttered angrily.
"And that's supposed to be my fault?" I snapped. "It doesn't matter as much for guys! I bled because I loved you so much." I rubbed my arm, knowing that his fingers had been bruised into my skin the night before.
"I never wanted you to." he said simply.
"Can you hear yourself talk?" I practically shouted. "You cheated on me, expecting us to 'just be friends'. News flash, jack-hole. I would rather die, then to be 'friends' with you again."
"Whatever." he muttered.
"'Whatever'?" I growled. "Calix, you ruined what we had together, just because you don't want to love me anymore." I watched his hands grip onto the steering wheel tightly, turning his knuckles white. "Calix, I still love you and I have never stopped." I finally whimpered.
"I never did love you." Calix shouted angrily whilst turning to look at me.
"I-" I shouted, whilst tears were full-on streaming down my face. Headlights shone on our faces, letting me see Calix's face one last time. "I-" I was cut off by a car crashing against our car. Pinning me down, yet flinging Calix out of the car.
The car caught on fire, flames licking my skin greedily. The flames started to comfort me, letting me forget about all of the pain Calix had caused me. I was in a trance, lost in the flame of the night.
"Relax." the flames hummed against me. "We'll love you forever."
I listened, because I knew no one else would ever love me.
I heard Calix groaning, causing me to snap out of my trance. I turned and stared at him, his body crumpled against the road.
"Ignore him, he never loved you." the flames whispered into my skin.
I watched as he leaned up and looked over at us, pain covering his face. He had blood dripping down his face, and his teeth were clenched together in pain. "Blithe?" he called out, yet he started coughing uncontrollably. "Blithe?" He moaned, softer this time. "Blithe." he whimpered, as soon as he saw me.
I could image his bright blue eyes staring at me from the end of the road.
"Blithe." he whispered weakly, then he dropped to the ground.
"Calix, I- I still love you." I whispered. I stared at his unconcious body one last time, "Good bye." I gasped out before my human body began to die.
I closed my eyes, letting the flames take me to the home I've dreamed of for such a long time. As I drifted closer and closer to the bright lights of heaven, I shrugged off my bloodied clothes, only wearing a dress of flames and my favorite black Converse.
