Joke Of The Day

Walking towards Laura, i notice that she's having a conversation with the girl beside her while waiting for me.

The girl is slim, has solid black coloured hair that is tied into a ponytail, about slightly taller than the average height of the girls in my year.

"Joshua, meet my b.f.f, Ashley." She says as i stop infront of her, turning my head to face the girl.

"Hey." She says softly and at the same time trying to avoid direct eye contact with me.

"Nice to meet you." I reply.

"She's shy." Laura tells me as she giggles.

Ashley lightly slaps Laura's shoulder, probably asking her to keep quiet.

Before i could say anything else, our teachers arrive and everyone goes to their individual maths class.

Science is after maths for today and our science teacher places me beside one out of the two korean guys in my class, Song Tae Hyung.

The moment i sat down beside Tae Hyung, Zack turns around and says "Becareful around Tae Hyung, he's gay."

Tae Hyung then tries his best to act like a gay person but fails horribly.

"It's okay, i'm gay too." I say thinking that they would know that i'm joking about it.

But everyone actually falls for it.

We have a short period of free time after science before the next lesson starts, and right after science, i had to repeatedly say "I'm not actually gay, it was a joke." to every single person in my class because they were all coming up to me, one by one and asking me if i was serious about being gay.

Lesson after lesson, it's finally lunch time, doing the same thing i did yesterday, i'm following Zack and the other guys to the canteen. But then again i don't feel like eating... might as well just go and wait outside the classroom.

"Hey, ummm i don't feel like eating so i'll just go."

"Oh, okay sure, we'll see you later." Zack says to me and then continues to walk to the canteen with James, Jay, Mike and Tae Hyung.

I've never liked crowded places from the start and the canteen is always packed with students, during free time, lunch and even after school. One of the reasons why i didn't want to go to the canteen today and also because i'm actually not hungry.

While walking up the stairs, i caught Laura and Ashley at the corner of my eye, what a coincedence. Laura spots me right after and told me to follow them.

"Where are we going?" I asked.

"We're not going anywhere, we're just gonna walk around school until we eventually get bored... or when the next lesson starts." Laura replies.

And so we did walk around and talk to each other for the entire lunch break.

Ashley is really shy but she's slowly getting more comfortable around me. I got to know her better and now so far, what i have learnt about her is that her favourite colour is silver, she's really into k-pop, has an older brother and two sisters, one younger, one older, she always listens to music whenever she has the chance.

Last lesson of the day, English. Mr Alan, our english teacher, tall, funny and friendly. His main feature is undoubtfully his bald head, it's really really shiny when the sunlight makes direct contact with his head. It's even brighter than my future for fuck sake. Anyway, his lessons are usually very fun, but today's lesson is really boring, he told us that this lesson will be really useful to us which mean that it's important and unfortunately will contain lots of writing. The class is as quiet as a cemetry as everyone is focusing on doing their work.

Tick tock tick tock tick tock

"Okay class! You may go now." Mr Alan says, triggering everyone to make their way out of the classroom.

Okay, well. School's over and that means i have to go back home now... i hope that today's bruises won't be bad, i wouldn't want to go to school with a black eye tomorrow.

I sigh.
