Michael POV
Home. Finally. After all these times on the road, finally, home.
Back to my own bedroom instead of the tourbus. My own bed instead of my bunk. My own clothes instead of having to steal from others. My own underwear, again without having to steal from others. My xBox, laptop, TV, just everything. It felt good to be back. Although, there was one thing missing.
Willow.
She said she follows us around everywhere we go, just in case. On one side, it's creepy. On the other hand, the idea of it is not that bad. Maybe I'm too whipped, seeing as I miss her already. Things may be hard to understand and may confuse some people, but it worked for us and that was all that mattered. I just hoped that someday she wouldn't have to follow me around anymore. Not in a bad way. But that I could walk out the door with her on my arm (a/n hehe ref) and that we could just walk around like a couple. Not having to call and wait for each other to come over to handle some bussiness. No. I hoped that someday, that would be able to happen.
I sighed and threw the controller down on my bed. I ran my fingers through my hair and stood up, walking down the stairs. I took my phone and earbuds, shoving my phone in my backpocket before slipping the earbuds in my ears. I opened the front door and walked out, not forgetting to close it behind me. Shoving my hands into my pockets, I made my way into town. The music blasting in my ears took me away from thoughts of willow for a while as I looked around at all the different shops and people. I missed this town when we were on the road.
I ran my fingers through my hair as I walked into one of the shops. I pulled one earbud out of my ear, making my way over to the hairdye section. I needed a new color anyway. I hummed and looked through them, all the different colors looking appealing to me. After a long time of thinking I settled on a Lilac color, a small smile forming on my lips. I turned around and made my way over to the cashier. I waited in line, reading the back of the box out of boredom. The line moved slowly and it felt like a decade until I finally got the chance to pay.
Once paid, I made my way out of the shop. I ran my hands over my face, glancing around for something to do. I couldn't think of anything, nor did I see something interesting. That was, until my eyes landed on someone rather familliar. I slowly walked over to the person standing in front of one of the shop windows, looking at whatever was inside. Once I was close enough, I saw that it was Willow. And she was looking at nailpolish. Typical.
I tapped her on the shoulder and gave her a smile once she turned around. "M-michael?" She glanced me up and down. I nodded and let a small chuckle escape my lips. "Nice to see you're back home safely as well." I smiled. She nodded and ran a hand through her hair. "Yea." She let out a little chuckle and looked up at me again. "How are you doing? Being back home and all?" She asked. I pulled my other earbud out of my ear and let it hang over my shoulder before starting to walk. Willow following. "Mweh, it's good to be back. It's definitely different." I grinned, looking down at her. She smiled and toyed with the sleeves of her sweater. "Yeah, I can imagine." She let out a small giggle and looked at me. "And how have you been doing?" I asked her. She smiled and began telling a story about something related to being home, but I was too distracted by her features that I wasn't really listening.
I admired her. How her hair fell over her shoulders in slight waves, glasses being perked on her nose, her eyes sparkling when she got to an interesting part. How her lips curled up in a smile and her amazingly shaped eyebrows pulled together when she told something that confused her or even made her a little angry. How she sometimes moved her hands while talking to put emphasis on certain parts. And all these little things she did made me fall for her more and more.
"Michael!" Her voice rang in my ears, making me yelp and look at her.
"Were you even listening?" She asked, a small hint of amusement lacing her voice. "U-uhm...." I trailed off, rubbing the back of my neck sheepishly. She giggled, a sound I never want to forget again. "That's fine. I'll tell you something more interesting another time." She giggled again, making me smile. She smiled up at me, her smile enchanting. At that moment, I felt my heartbeat pick up and eventually burst. I had to talk to her. I had to talk about how I felt and how I wanted more than this. On one side, it scared me. On the other side, it had to be done. I can't keep this up much longer then this. Even if she wouldn't feel the same, which I hope she did, I had to let this out to her.
"Willows?" I asked once we turned another corner. "Yes?" She answered, pulling the sleeves of her sweater over her knuckles. 'Goddammit stop being so cute' I thought to myself, shaking my head. "Can we...can we talk?" I asked, toying with my fingers as I kept my gaze on the ground. "Uhm...sure? About?" I felt her eyes burn in the sides of my face. "N-not here. Can you come over to mine? My parents are bussy shopping for this reunion dinner tonight." I explained. She nodded slowly and I shot her a smile. She returned it, gladly. "Great." I smiled as we continued to walk. Nerves suddenly began to fill my tummy. So many questions started to fill my head, but one stood out the most.
If I tell her and ask her, would she stay?
