Garrick led Sofia and the boys to an interesting island called Phoenix Country. The countryside of this island was very beautiful.
"Wow, this is beautiful," Hugo gaped.
Suddenly, a bird with an elephant's trunk came flying. Sofia had never seen such a peculiar bird.
"Is that an elephant bird?" Sofia asked.
"Good guess, honey," Garrick smiled. "It's called a Pelicant."
A Pelicant flew in front of the group. He picked up Sofia's hand and said elegantly, "My lady." Then he kissed Sofia's hand.
Derek, Khalid, and Zandar giggled. James and Hugo just smiled.
"Who knew animals could be so elegant?" Hugo smiled.
The group went over to the Pelicants' nest and saw a ginormous egg. It was so amazing that Sofia and the boys just had to pull out their sketchbooks to draw this sight. Before they knew it, the egg hatched, and a baby Pelicant came out.
Sofia thought this was an exciting adventure—and the best part was that she got to enjoy it with Hugo.
