Sorry for not posting in so long! Please accept the Pusheen GIF as an apology.

Instead of keeping those gigantically messy information checkpoints, I have decided to dedicate a chapter strictly for, well, information. Read it if you'd like; otherwise just keep scrolling.

~For a shifter, the name of your animal determines amount of robust power you hold. If your companion is named after an ancient god or goddess (typically greek or roman) then the order in which your brand is is on the scale of immortal individuals. The higher your status, the more feared you are. It also helps that I have two other living things with me.

The name your animal is given usually rides with the definition and characteristics the surname possesses.

Athena is a greek goddess of war and cunning wisdom. It's said that when Zeus was told that any child born from Metis would be more powerful than the almighty god himself (Zeus), he swallowed her. Some time later, he was experiencing tremendous headaches, and so he asked Hephaistos to crack open his skull and take a look to see what was wrong. But when Hephaistos opened is head, Athena lunged out, cloaked in armor and ready for battle. Zeus ended up favoring her, as she succeed in any and all warfare she fought, including the Trojan war, due to her extreme intellect and logic of combat strategies. She was granted patron over the city of Athen, and she cared for them well. The prophecies state that she was gifted at crafts; such as pottery and wool-working. Her animal was an owl, and at least one would follow her into battle every time.

My cat is similar to the ancient immortal. Obviously she didn't pop out of anyone's head, in a way, but she is very useful when it comes to bloodshed. Her wisdom is genuinely helpful, as she usually has thought everything out before making any decisions. She likes to try to solve conflicts without the service of violence by using her voice, however that method is frequently abandoned. Her fingers are non-existent, and so I was welcomed with the pleasure of artwork. The owl actually is commonly associated with us--in fact we have a little flying friend awaiting us back on neutral land.

Freya is a norse goddess of war and sensual love. She was a spectacular beauty, known for her love for romantic music and delicate floral preparations. Of course, this was her softer side, as she was still commonly known for war and death. It's said she had one true love, her husband, Od. As leader of the Valkyries, she has tremendous power, and would claim the bravest souls who gave their life on the battlefield, and invite them and their families for a perpetual afterlife in her own home. When her husband disappeared, most assumed he had died from enemy warfare. She had cried tears of golden despair, but refused to believe that he was dead. She has threw on a feathered robe that granted her the ability to fly, and searched the earth for her love. Upon finding Od in the sea, she witnessed the horrid sight of his new appearance--he had morphed into a sea monster, and yet she continued to remain by his side. When someone stumbled upon the grisly creature, they wasted naught a single second in killing him. Freya was furious, but later calmed when she realized that she would still be with him in his death. The legend also tells that when Thor found a litter of blue kittens with a lone male parent, he commanded them to leave. But, a cat being a cat, they stayed, and so Thor volunteered Freya to adopt them. She did, having them travel among her when she flew across the sky.

My dark leopard possesses the same traits as the gone leader. She does indeed like battle, just not really the part where she has to get dirtied. My cat hasn't had any experience in the 'love' department, but she never shuts up when she sees a remotely handsome guy, which is actually quite annoying, causing me to block her out most of the time. The beauty she possesses beams through any circumstance, making everything just a tad bit brighter. She radiates power as well, making her a very discouraging individual. Fashion is a key subject between the three of us, as even Athena dressed well. Freya generally calls most of the shots when it comes to trending though, which no one objects against. She's normally sweet and generous (I know, unbelievable) unless she's peeved or it's one of the two people she shares her life with.~

~The creatures we carry with us have their own personalities, which in most cases is a pain half the time, and an absolute pleasure the other fifty percent. They speak when they please through mind-link, a telepathic wave that allows us to communicate, and say anything they desire. This is the main cause for "bi-polar" folk's sudden personality change. Our animals provide insight and humor constantly, which typically forces the human part of ourselves to block them out. Their eyes glaze over, creating a cloud like appearance on the outlines of their pupils when they are speaking to their animal. When the magnificent creature is surfacing, their eyes switch colors, and in some cases glow, depending on the kind of 'friend' they carry with them.

Now don't get me wrong, our were side is one-third of our soul, and so most shifters tend to get along with them. The fact that we have another person permanently with us means that our natural personality is altered. For instance, if you yourself were meant to be a comedian, whatever characteristics your beastly side possesses will expand your palette, and so you would have more of a wide spread comedy range.

Now imagine living with two different animals, aside from yourself. I'm an exception to everything known about shifters. My soul is split up into four major sections, one for myself, one for each of my animals, and one for my mate.

Living with drastically different parts to yourself also means that whatever skills the other side inherited is bestowed upon to you as well. Most shifters have keen eyesight, enhanced hearing, unearthly strength and speed, prominent smell, and such, but the amount varies by animal.

Freya, one-forth of myself, is a Sunda Clouded Leopard, and therefor she has a remarkable ingenuity for climbing. Statistically, she is the best at climbing the big cat species has to offer. Her long tail proves uncanny balance, while her short legs help center gravity, giving her the ability to climb from limb to limb upside-down, hang from branches with her hind feet, and even descend head first, as a squirrel would scamper down a tree. (A/N, these are true Sunda Clouded Leopard facts, you can google it if you don't believe me)

She also has canines that are a striking resemblance to the extinct Saber Tooth Tiger, and their hunting strategy is similar as well. Both cats have a jaw gape of one-hundred degrees, and comparing that to a lion's sixty-five degree gape, their bite is exceedingly lethal. To put the icing on the cake, the primitive tiger and the modern clouded leopard both kill their large prey by biting their neck, using their elongated fangs to sever nerves and blood vessels and strangle the windpipe, promptly killing them.

Athena, another one-forth of myself, is a Snow Leopard, and so she is an adequately skillful leaper, capable of launching herself a full fifty feet (fifteen meters) in distance from one spot to the next, making her an excellent source of escape. Her tremendous leaps are supported by powerful legs, and their tales act as a balance beam as well as a blanket to protect from harsh opposing winds of Nepal.

In addition, her appetite is massive, which can be quenched by eating an animal nearly three times her weight, such as an elk. Generally, they are found in or around clifftops or mountain ranges, due to being able to target and attack their prey easier by using the element of surprise. They can't roar, which makes them the only large cat species without such a skill. What they lack in voice, however, they make up for in size, as they are approximately four feet long, excluding their tales that typically double their length, and weigh about one-hundred to one-hundred-twenty pounds, opposed to the clouded leopard's four to six feet and fifty pound structure.~
