Mia's Point Of View
The next morning I know there's only one thing left for me to do. I get up relatively early and start taking care of some things. Evie hasn't woken up yet, which might be a good thing. I honestly don't even know. Why am I always so active in the mornings and sleepy the rest of the day?
First things first, I'm going to call Max. I want to know if he's mad at Evie, because I can't imagine him being mad at her for something her mother did. But well, boys are boys... You never know.
Luckily the guy's already awake, so I don't have to wake him up anymore. "Yeah?" He says through the phone. "Hey Max, it's Mia," I say. It's quiet for a moment but then he responds. "Oh hi, what's up?" He asks me.
"Well, I was wondering..." I start. "Yesterday you got kicked out of the house by Evie's mom, I know that. But now Evie's worried that you're mad at her for that... Are you?" I ask him straight to the point, because that's just what I'm like. Straight to the point. It's quiet again, but not for long. "Of course I'm not, why'd she think that?" Max asks.
"Because she hasn't heard from you and she's just scared," I explain. "When you left yesterday and didn't try to reach her, she thought that her mom had scared you away," this time Max immediately responds. "I'm sorry, I really didn't mean to make her feel that way," he says. "I was just scared that she wouldn't want to talk to me anymore because of her mother. I was afraid that she'd think her mother was right, and break up with me," I feel sad for the poor boy.
"Don't worry, Evie isn't planning on breaking up with you," I assure him. "Maybe you could come by? Have a little talk with her? I think you'd both feel better after that," Max agrees with me and we decide to have him over in an hour. I hope Evie will wake up before that, because it would be a bit difficult if she'd still be asleep.
Luckily she wakes up after fifteen minutes, and I tell her to get dressed while I make breakfast for us. My brother is already awake, but he hasn't been out of his room, as usual. I make some pancakes because I feel like baking today. I know Evie loves pancakes, so this will be a nice cure for her sadness.
When she walks in, she can already smell them. A smile forms on her face as she sits down at the table I made ready for breakfast. "You're making pancakes," she happily says. "Yeah, because you love them," I tell her with a smile while shoving a fresh one out of the pan, onto her plate. She puts some syrup on it and takes a bite.
"Hm, delicious M," she says while closing her eyes in enjoyment. I smile and start making another pancake for myself. It's half past ten now, so Max should be here in half an hour. Enough time for us to eat our breakfast. It's weird though, sitting here like this with Evie. Usually we are the ones having arguments and stuff, but now we're nice to each other. Of course we were friends before No Maturity was formed, but there's always been some kind of tension between us. Luckily, the tension's nowhere to be seen right now.
After our pancakes we clean the table and talk about small things. At eleven o'clock exactly, the doorbell rings.
"Can you open for me? I have to turn on the dishwasher," I say, and Evie hesitantly goes for the door. I hope things will be okay after this, I like Evie and Max together.
Of course there's also Michael, but I feel like he didn't try hard enough for Evie. After our little stay in Paris they barely spoke to each other, I don't know what happened. But, what happened in Paris stays in Paris, doesn't exactly go for those two. Luckily Evie has Max now, and he's a good guy. We get along well with him, the girls and I.
I hear my phone beep, and see that it's Calum. It must be somewhere around 6 in the evening there in Los Angeles, a day earlier. It's weird, because I'm a day further than him.
