Dylan
The next day, I met up with Brooklyn on the way to first hour science.
"Hey Dylan!" She said, flipping her hair over her shoulder.
She looked tired, and her voice sounded a bit shaky, but she was beautiful nonetheless.
"Hey Brookie Cookie!"
She flinched, I saw it. Normally it was just a little squirm that I was able to pass off as my imagination. But today, it was a full on flinch. She stared at her shoes. I swallowed hard. I couldn't ask, could I? Would that be drama? That could potentially tear apart our friendship and I couldn't risk that. She was too important to me.
Meanwhile, my crush in my best friend is slowly eating away at me from the inside out, and there's nothing I could do about it.
