Emma
I needed to talk to someone about Drew. But Drew was my closest friend. I wanted to get back together with him; I loved him. But I didn't know if that was the right choice. I knew that Jackie wouldn't give up that easily.
I decided to go to a close friend of mine, Brooklyn Dackery.
When I approached her before first hour, she was talking to a boy. Dylan, I think his name was. I had never really been sure whether they were dating or not. He called her Brookie Cookie all the time, but they claimed to just be friends.
I tapped Brooklyn's arm, and she turned to me, her face lighting up.
"Hi Emma!" She greeted me.
"Hey Brooklyn," I said, noticing that Dylan looked confused and slightly hurt.
I hoped I wasn't interrupting anything.
"Can you come here for a sec?" I asked.
"Sure," She turned back to Dylan, "I'll see you in science, okay?"
He just nodded and sort of half-sulked off. I dragged Brooklyn over to a bench in the hallway, and sat down.
"I was wondering if you could do me a favor..." I started.
"What is it?" She seemed wary and I didn't know why.
"I was wondering if you could help me out with Jackie and Drew."
"Oh, no, I can't..." She started, but I interrupted.
"I don't want you to talk to Jackie!" I said quickly, "That would basically be suicide."
"Emma..."
"Brooklyn, please? Can you just... I don't know, talk to Drew for me? Ask what he wants to do?"
"Emma, I'm so sorry. I'd love to help, but I just can't," She got up and started to walk away.
"Brooklyn wait-" I grabbed her arm to stop her.
"I have to get to class." She snapped, tugging her arm back and rushing away, leaving me sat alone on a bench in the middle of a rapidly filling hallway.
