My pocket buzzes and I fish out my phone and look at an unread message.

I chuckle and slip it back into my pocket. I walk over to the door but I realise Katelyn's dealing with it. My toast pops up and I throw it onto my plate, dodging the risk of burning my precious fingers in the process. I grab a yellow tub from the fridge and smear butter over my toast with a butter knife. I walk over to the dinner table and set down my plate before taking a bite out of my buttery toast.

I woke up this morning and found Cookie nowhere. When I answered the door for the delivery of cat toys she then came to me afterwards and I brought up some breakfast for both of us. I have been on my laptop buying cat stuff online ever since. She's been sleeping under the covers of my bed with a toy fish in her mouth ever since. I open a box of cat beds and position them around the room. I turn my head and she's already sitting in the one underneath my desk. Aww cutie.
I bend over from my chair and grab Cookie setting her in my lap. I dig my face into her neck with my nose next to her ears and move my hands around her. She's so warm, like a living heater on four legs. I cuddle her closer when she flicks her ear which scares the crap out of me and I jerk my head back. I eye my laptop again and I have a requested video call from Jeffory. I quickly move my right hand to the keyboard and click enter accepting it.
Jeffory pops up sitting on his couch with Abby next to him playing with her dolls, "Hi Katelyn Aunty!" Abbey says cheerfully.
I smile broadly and reply, "Hi Abby, Jeffory," he chuckles.
"Hello Katelyn," he adds, "Nice to see you, I thought you wouldn't be on your laptop at this time in the morning,"
"Sure, anyways I've been waiting to show Abby" I turn to Abby who is focused on her dolls and speak up "-Abby, want to see Cookie?" I ask, rubbing my fingers over Cookie's cold triangle ears.
"Yeah, Abby's been pretty excited since I told her," he states, I let out a giggle "She's looking forward to coming over and playing with her,"
"Yes Yes I want to see!" she exclaims. I wrap my hands around my kitty before holding her up to my face laughing.
