My Kingdom 2

Chapter 1

Lady-In-Waiting Maddie's P.O.V.

"Wake up Sleeping Beauty!" I yell jumping on Bridget's bed.

"5 more minutes." Bridget groans putting the pillow over her head.

"No!" I say taking the pillow from her. "It's your 18th birthday, you have to get up. The whole kingdom is excited for your coming of age."

"Okay, I'm up." Bridget says sitting up.

"Good. I must get you ready, my princess." I grab her hand and pull her into the bathroom. I first curl her hair, and her crown on. Then we pick out a beautiful light pink dress for her to wear, with white heels. "Beautiful. This is the outfit of a 18 year old!"

"Why thank you." Bridget smiles.

"Let's go get some breakfast." I say bring her out of the room. We walk down the huge hallways and into the dining area. We meet Princess Bridget's family and the Doctor in there.

"Good morning." Bridget says walking in.

"Look who it is, the beautiful birthday girl." Prince Harry says hugging Bridget.

"Good morning." The Doctor says kissing Bridget's cheek. "Happy Birthday."

We all gather around the table and enjoy our breakfast. After breakfast Bridget has to do her normal princess stuff before the party. We are having a small party for her 18th. She didn't want anything big, but the whole kingdom is celebrating outside the walls of the palace.

I head down to the library where I know I'll see Christine, the royal advisor. "Hello, Christine." I say sitting down beside her. "Are you coming to the party later today?" I ask.

"Hello, Maddie." Christine says. "Yes, Nathan and I will be attending." Nathan is her new husband. They met a couple years ago and it was love at first sight.

"Good. I'm helping to set up later." I say. "What are you doing?"

"I'm documenting." Christine says writing something down.

"Why?" I ask looking over her shoulder.

"So that future people will know about there history." Christine says matter-of-factly.

"Christine?" I hear someone say from behind me. I turn around to see Nathan.

"Yes, Nathan?" Christine says turning around to face him.

"I have a meeting with Emily in about 5 minutes, but after that do you want to take a walk before the party. I have an almost free schedule today." Nathan says walking up to her.

"I don't think I have time." Christine says looking back towards her paper. "I still have to document the rest of this month, then I have to..."

"Okay, I'll come get you at 10 then for the walk." Nathan says winking. "Be ready."

"Okay." Christine says giving in. "See you then." Nathan smiles and then walks out.

"Well, I'll leave you to it so you can be ready." I say standing up. "Bye, Christine."

"Bye." Christine says.

I walk out of the library and start on my normal palace walk. It's so huge that I aways discover more things. As I'm walking down the hall I feel hands wrap around me.

I screech and hear someone laugh behind me. I turn my head to see Holden, my fiancé, standing behind me still holding me. "I got you this time."

"Yes, you did." I say breathing normal again. "You have got to stop that, you are going to give me a heart attack one day."

Holden laughs. "So I hear you are on set up duty today for the party."

"Yes, I am. I'm going to make it look like a fairy-tale party." I say continuing to walk.

"I thought it was going to be small." Holden says.

"Yeah. It is, but that doesn't mean I can't make it look big." I smile.

"I guess." Holden says. "So how long are you free?"

"For about 10 minutes." I say looking at my watch.

"That's enough time." Holden says taking my hand. He drags me into one of our main living areas. "Our wedding planner needs to know a couple things."

"Okay," I say.

"Hello, Madeline." The wedding planner, Mrs. Tanner, says. No one ever uses my real name so it's weird to be called that.

"Hello, you can call me Maddie." I say.

"Taste these chocolates." She says. "Which is your favorite for the flavor of the icing." I taste each and they all taste heavenly.

"I think the second." I say. She writes it down.

"Which color for the bridesmaid dresses?" She says handing me a couple color swabs.

"I think a light pink will be good." I say pointing to one. "I'll have to meet with you later, I have an appointment to attend to."

"Okay, don't forget you and your bridesmaids fitting for the dresses." She says packing her stuff.

"I won't, thank you." I say turning to leave. Holden thanks her and follows me out.

"I'll see you at the party later, my lady-in-waiting." Holden says.

"I'll see you then." I quickly kiss him and then walk into the ball room.
