Chapter 9

Lady-In-Waiting Maddie's P.O.V.

Today is the day. Today is the day that I will be married. Married to the man if my dreams, Holden. I know this is what I want. I want to be with him for the rest of my life, I love him.

"Oh my gosh, Maddie." Bridget says putting a hand over her mouth. "You look beautiful."

"Thank you." I say looking in the mirror. My hair is twisted up in a braided up-do. I put my flower crown on top, with an added vail on it. My dress has a sweetheart neckline, that flows past my feet with a semi-long train. It looks like a fairytale dress.

"Your bridesmaids are waiting for you." Bridget says handing my my white rose bouquet.

"Here comes the bride!" Emily says running up and hugging me as I enter a room beside the same ballroom.

"Were you this nervous on your wedding day?" I ask shaking.

"Yes, I was nervous. But I knew that it was the right decision. Do you know that this is what you want?" Emily asks seriously.

"Yes," I exhale. "This is defiantly what I want." I smile widely.

"Then, I think it's time for you to get married." Emily says giving me one last squeeze.

The wedding is going to be a small wedding. Only a couple people of the palace, but that's how Holden and I wanted it.

The music starts and I can hear everyone get quite. First, Darcy, the flower girl, walks down the isle. Then, my bridesmaids start walking down the isle, in their matching light pink gowns. Since my dad isn't here, I asked Harry to give me away. Throughout the time I've been the Lady-In-Waiting, I've grown closer and closer to Bridget's family. So, he agreed to do it.

"Are you ready, Maddie?" Harry asks as my maid of honor, Bridget, walks down the isle.

"Yes, I'm ready."

We take our first step down the isle. Everyone is watching me. I look ahead, and see the reason why this is happening. Holden smiles down the isle at me. As we get closer and closer, more and more butterflies occupy my stomach.

Harry gives me away to Holden. I take his hand and walk up with him. The priest says all of the normal wedding things, but I just watch Holden watching me.

"Do you, lady-in-waiting Maddie, take Holden to be your husband? For better or for worse, for sickness and in health. Until death do you part?"

I smile. "I do."

"Holden, do you take Maddie to be your wife. For better or for worse, for sickness and in health. Until death do you part?"

"I do."

"Then you may kiss the..."

He stops as the glass above us gets shattered all over the floor. Everyone screams. Holden grabs me and pulls us back a little bit. Ropes fall from the opening and 3 people dressed in black slide down. The window breaks and 2 more people jump and roll in.

"We are from the Land of Far, Far Away. Surrender now and no one gets hurt." One says holding a knife.

"No." Emily says crossing her arms.

Then the door opens and one walks in and trips on the carpet.

"Definitely from the Land of Far, Far Away." Emily smirks.

"I told you to use the ropes!" One whisper-yells at the one who walked in.

"It was to much work." He whines.

"What are we going to do? We are all going to die and they will take us over! They have knifes!" Darwin screams pacing.

Emily face palms. "Darwin, you breathe fire!"

"Oh yeah." Darwin laughs. "I forget sometimes." He puts on a straight face. "Go back where you came from peasants or else!"

"Or else what?" They ask putting their hands on their hips.

Darwin roars fire catching some of the room on fire. "GO!" He yells throwing fire.

"Until next time, Land of Here!" They yells jumping out of the windows.

One stands there. "I'm just going to leave now..."

"Guards!" Bridget yells. The guards pin the guy and take him away to the dungeon.

"That was interesting..." Christine says looking around.

"Everything is ruined." I say looking around. "Well, it's not perfect but I'm still getting married."

"You may... kiss the bride... I supposed." The priest says confused.

I take Holden's hands and pull him in to a kiss. Bridget snaps a picture, that's going to be one heck of a picture.

Everyone cheers when we break. Then we walk down the isle together and that's when everyone starts freaking out. The ballroom is a mess, I feel bad for the maids. We get the fire under control, we all exit the ballroom.

I walk out with my husband. I'm enjoying that word, husband. Everyone has to either clean up or talk to the Queen, so Holden and I start walking down the halls, still in our wedding garments.

"That will be a story to tell."

"Yes, it will be. I bet your children will enjoy that." Holden laughs.

"It might not of gone exactly as planned, but it was still wonderful." I say leaning against him.

"It's not over yet," Holden says leading me into the room we were going to have the reception. He runs over and puts a record on the record player. He takes my hand in one hand and grabs my waist in the other. He takes a step and I follow his lead. We dance, alone, in the ballroom, for our wedding reception, and it was perfect.
