Lightning

I wake up and see my mother dressed up.

"Come on wake up get dressed and go to the living room." I groan. And look at the clock.

"Mom... It's 5 in the morning!" I say slowly. She looks strait at me and gives me a classic "Mom Look". I gulp.

"Where are we going?" I ask. While holding my bag.

"Camp Half Blood." She says like its the most normal thing in the world. "Why, Where?" I ask.

"Because, after you getting half of your school on fire, I don't want!" She sighs. "I don't want you hurt. Burning half of your school isn't the weirdest thing that's happened to you." Shes right about that, Far weirder stuff has happened to me. Lets walk down Memory Lane... When I was little my mom went on another date with a guy she found online at some love site she hired a sitter for the night. When she came back she found the sitter on the couch hugging herself tightly muttering something about "cursed baby" or something. The sitter told my mom that she left the water running in the bath tub with me in it. When she came back she found me underwater playing with my rubber ducky. "Its best for me, and you." I sigh and walk to the living room.

Mom opens the front door and its Raining cats and dogs! There was lightning striking every where.

"Wait Mom?" I say, before she locks the door.

"Can we take Selene?" I ask with puppy eyes. It was a long tense 2 minuets until she sighs and says "Fine."

I run back in and get Selene. When I come out to the porch I see "Mom" in the car gesturing me and Selene to get in. We run I the car and we ride to Camp Half Blood.

We park a couple feet away from the forest where there was a large hill and a small clearing. We get out of the car and walk to the clearing. There was a bunch of glass bottles littered across the path.

"Well I guess this is goodbye now." I say. I look at mom she is trying to holding back tears. Then the waterworks start.

"No! Nessa I can't go back! I won't have any one to go to!" Says mom.

"You have Selene Mom, and you have Ryan Lee! He's your boyfriend!" I exclaim.

Mom sighed. "Mom your the one who told me to..."

"Well maybe you can stay home for a couple more weeks?" She asks sheepishly.

I sigh in Frustration. Then a lightning strikes a tree next to mom. We gasp. Then more and more lightning strike.

"Quick! To the top of the hill!" yells mom. She pulls on Selene's cord. We start running up the hill. A bolt strikes next to Selene, she yelps. We run faster to the top of the hill. But when We reach half way to the top mom tripped. I turned around and saw in horror. Mom got up and whilst she did lightning struck her. Her body shook Violently. Then she fell face first to the ground.

"Mom!" I yell. I rush to her side. I turn her around she is wickedly pail and her forehead there a big black burn. She opens her eyes and smiles.

"Nessa?"

"Mom! Please don't close your eyes don't go to the light!" I weep silently. Selene trots next to me and paws moms shoulder whining.

"Nessa. Cross the big pine tree at the top of the hill." she groans in pain.

"Take Selene with you. Ill be fine."

"No mom theres got to be someone who can cure you!" I weep.

"No I will be fine go to the top..." She closes her eyes slowly and her body becomes as lump as a rag doll. I gasp, I touch her neck and look for a pulse.

I couldn't find a pulse. But I could see her stomach slowly rise and fall. I sigh with relief.

Lightning strikes next to me. I jump up in shock. But I am determined to keep my mom safe. Well safer than here.

I drag moms Limp body up the hill with Selene's cord in my hand. And since I'm so graceful, I trip on a beer bottle. I see something red drip to the ground. I touch my forehead and look at my fingers. They were covered in red blood.

Im a couple feet away from the topof the hill, When my legs buckle and my body falls. I groan. I look at my mom. Her body was limp and looked lifeless. I let go of Selene's cord, she crooked her head at me. I smiled painfully and tiredly the I slowly closed my eyes. I could Faintly hear Selene howl and the sky, while my eyes remained closed and I blacked out...
