Chris POV

Chris and Kayla walked down the steps. Ro followed behind them slowly. Chris looked at me.

"Where's mommy?" he asked.

"Uh, she had to go somewhere." I said. I put the the kids in the car and started to drive to my mother's house. I had to go make some things right today.

I was about to turn the corner when I got a call from Rita's mother.

"Bello?" I answered.

"Chris! What have you done?" she asked. I looked at my phone confused.

"What are you talking about?"

"Rita lost the baby." she said.

"She what?" I asked.

"You didn't know?"

"No. Uh, where is she at?" I felt tears coming. I tried to swallow it down.

"And then you go and cheated on her. Chris, how could you?" she screamed. I took the phone off of bluetooth and put my earphones in my ear.

"What are you talking about?" I started speeding towards my mother and Rita's apartment.

"She called me last night crying. Told me that she was spotting. She thought she lost the baby.

"Did she or did she not?" I asked.

"I don't know Chris. You really fucked up this time."
"Hold up. I really fucked up this time. Let's talk about how your daughter called me a bad father. In front of my daughter. Let's talk about how she cheated on me before. Let's talk about how she always bringing up old fucking shit, that has nothing to do with her. I moved on with my life. Why can't she?"

"Does someone who moved on with their life go back with that person again?"

"You know what Ms. Vera? All due respect and shit, but fuck you. Because this is some fucking shit. You don't know what goes on in my life."
"Yeah and that's why your life is fucked up. With three different baby mothers. What you gon have a fourth?"

"If I do, why the fuck does it matter to you. Fuck outta here." I hung up. I looked in the mirror at the kids. They were playing with each other. I sighed and pulled into the parking garage. We got out and went to the elevator. The doorman smiled at us and waved at the kids. We walked inside the elevator. I pressed the button and waited for the door closed. I looked at the kids. Little Chris closed his eyes the way Rita does when she gets in the elevator. I smiled just thinking about it. I quickly let the smile drop. Once the elevator opened, I walked to my mother's door and knocked on it. My mother opened it. She frowned.

"I told you I had things to do today." she said.

"It's only be like 20 minutes Ma. Please. This gives you time to hang out with all three of your grandkids." she rolled her eyes.

'Fine. Only because I get to hang out with my grandkids." the kids smiled.

"Grandma." they all said. They walked in. I walked towards Rita's apartment and I sighed. I knocked on the door and waited.

"Leave me alone." she said from behind the door.

"Please. Can we talk?"

"Why would I want to talk to you?"

"You sort of talking to me now." I said. I knew she scowled. Then I heard the doors unlock. She stood there. In a big t- shirt, which was mine. Her hair was in a bun.

"Stop staring at me." she said in a raspy voice. She cleared her throat.

"Can I come in?"

"No."

"Please Rita."

"No, Christopher."

"Oh we doing full names now?"

"What do you want?" she asked. She stared at me. I sighed and rubbed my hands through my hair.

"I'm sorry. I was messed up. I fucked up. Really bad. I love you." I stepped towards her and she backed away.

"Chris. That wasn't cool." she said.

"I know. I don't know, what I was doing. I was mad and I got faded. I don't remember who I was with until I woke up. I saw her next to me. I don't remember doing anything. But I was naked. I-" I stepped towards her. She didn't back up. "I was- I was frustrated because you put me in a situation that I wasn't happy with. You know I've been through shit."
"I've been through shit two. Chris, I lost the fucking baby." she said quietly. I looked at her and blinked.

"I'm sorry. It was my fault."
"It sure was."

"Please, what can I do to make this up to you. To make you feel better?" I asked.

"Stay the hell out of my life."she said.

"That's not possible. We have a child together."

"Yeah well, it's not like you aren't his legal guardian."
"You have visitation."
"That isn't anything."

"Rita, I love you."

"That's not what you said last night Chris."

"Rita." I said as my voice broke.

"Fuck you." she closed the door. I looked at the closed door and started to cry. I turned around and saw my mother standing outside the door and held out her arms.

"It's ok to cry baby." she said. I walked over to her and hugged her. "Everything will be alright."
