Shadow

I have a shadow
That follows me everywhere
Everyone has one
So I suppose it's fair

My shadow was cool
Where I am a fool.
It has no mistakes,
Needs no remakes,

While I am here
With a crack and a scare
But my shadow never goes quite far.

It is strange to think
Of my shadow this way.
How it seems so perfect
In this life play,

Though my shadow
Is dark and scary,
Is perfect with no backstory
I have a past
The memories from it last

My shadow doesn't have to,
Watch the world like I do,
It hides when needed,
While I am always miss-leaded

Some say it is an outline
Of who I really am.
But that's where I draw the line.
What you see is really me.

Why must this thing
Follow me every where I go
I honesty don't know.
Maybe as a challenge so keep us going.

Maybe there's a reason.
That goes unknowing
But weather I know or not.
Shadow, please know, I have bravely fought.

With love, A.C. Claire.
