Finally, we slowed. I had enjoyed all of the running at first, but it quickly tired me out. Well, that, and I wasn't really able to see all that well anymore, since it was pitch black. My spacial awareness helped me once in a while, but often just left me alone to trip over as many roots and stones as I wanted. Serif didn't seem to be having a problem. Then again, he was closer to Tetsu and Kirsi. The light the Breloom's spores emanated reached him.
I glanced up. A bit of light filtered through the leaves above, but other than the few sunbeams that did get through, the trees blocked out a ton of sunlight. I sighed as I sped up a little, nearly tripping again as I did so. I walked beside Damien, pressing my fur against his. I didn't want to lose his location.
"How is it so dark here?" I asked, casting another gaze up at the treetops.
"This is Shadeleaf Forest... It's name matches it perfectly. It used to be a huge Mystery Dungeon before Pokemon made a path through it. It's still a Mystery Dungeon, but it's harder to enter now." Kirsi explained.
"Oh." I responded, glancing around. I could barely see the trees in the dark atmosphere. I focused on not tripping and falling for the umpteenth time as we walked.
It felt like a lot longer before suddenly Tetsu sped up.
"We're almost there!" The Swoobat squeaked excitedly. Kirsi quickened her pace as well, which led to Serif and I quickly trotting along. I tripped over yet another root, and nearly fell on my face.
After stumbling, and being steadied by Serif, I stood again, looking up. A tunnel of light was ahead, and the thick leaves cleared above us. The sun had moved again, but I was unsure as to what time it was.
"Here we are!" Tetsu said, turning and raising her wings to show us the town.
"Whoa!" Serif squeaked. I stared in amazement. The town was below us, set in a small, valley-like area. To the north and west were a vast sea, of which the sun was set over. A path led to a beach, as well as a main town area.
"So this is Treasure Town..." Serif finished, smiling at me. I knew what he was thinking. I was excited just thinking about making our own exploration team.
"Come on, let's go to the guild." Kirsi said calmly. She had already walked a ways ahead. A frustrated squeak came from the Swoobat as she chased after her partner. "Wait up!"
I gave one final smile at Serif, who smirked. I tipped my head.
"Race you!" He yipped, shooting off after Kirsi and Tetsu.
"Hey!" I replied. "No fair!" I darted after him, once again running. I was definitely more fit, that was for sure. I loved the feeling of running now.

We walked up the path to the guild. Tetsu smiled, fidgeting excitedly. Meanwhile, Kirsi kept her calm, collected attitude as she walked up the stairs. I was careful putting my paws down. I hadn't ever walked up stairs like this before. I nearly fell once, just to suddenly see Serif next to me, helping me stay up.
Reaching the top took a good three minutes. By the time I was there, I was panting out of exhaustion of the constant running and climbing. I tried to hide it as much as possible, making my breath normal again.
"This grate is for detecting a Pokemon's footprint. The sentry below shouts out the Pokemon's name, so the Pokemon stationed above can open the gate depending on who's on the grate." Kirsi explained, motioning with one claw to the grate in front of us.
