I got a call from child services and they said they were coming today to do a check up on how I'm doing with taking care of Ella. Great, I have two hung over friends and three bottles of alcohol in our fridge. How am I supposed help them not show that they are hung over? They need to be with me during this evaluation, But they just had to go drink last night. Idiots.

"Ashton! Michael! Get your butts out of bed now!" I yelled.

"Dude, Stop the yelling, I have a major headache." Michael said.

"Yeah, Well we have a major problem! The social services are coming to do a check up to see if we're a good enough family for Ella. And since you and Ash had to get drunk last night, We're screwed. Unless you sober up now, But they're coming in an hour." I said.

"Crap! Um, What can I do? Go for a quick walk? It does take an hour to sober up. Why don't me and Ash go for a quick walk." Michael suggested.

"Fine, But hurry up. I don't want them to be here and you guys aren't. I'm gonna need help in this." I said.

"Okay, We'll be back soon!" Mike yelled and walked out the door.

My nerves were getting worse as the time went by. I doubt they'll take Ella away from me, But you never know, They could find something wrong that I'm doing and take her. But I'll fight them if they even try to take her from me.

It's just about time for them to get here and thankfully Ash and Mike aren't hung over anymore. They're actually functioning and they don't smell of boos anymore. This might actually go pretty well! We all jumped when we heard the door bell ring, And we all know who that is. Let's get this over with.

"Good morning Mr.Hemmings. I'm Mrs. James from the social services department. Are you ready to do the evaluation?" She asked.

"Yep! Let's do this." I said.

Calum was holding Ella while me and Mrs.James walked around our flat to see if there was anything that's a "health hazard" or what ever.

"Is this where Ella sleeps?" She asked.

"Yes, I built this room for her when we moved here. Isn't it cute?" I asked.

"Very, Good job. Most people I do these checks with don't even give their kids a room, So points for you Mr.Hemmings." She said.

I mentally did a happy dance because we only have two more things to check, And I know for sure they'll pass us.

"Well Mr.Hemmings, I don't see anything wrong with this living situation. You've passed. But, I have a question. Where is her mother?" She asked.

"Um, Well you see. I never knew Ella even existed until about a couple months ago. But her mother just left me with her and Ella seems to be happy with me. I tried to talk my ex girlfriend out of leaving Ella, But she trusted me to take care of her, So I guess I have that going for me." I said.

"I see. Well, Good job in taking care of her. Even when you're busy. I'm happy she's happy with you and the guys. Congrats Luke. I'll just call you every month for about a year to just check up on you. If that's okay?" She asked.

"Sure. That we can do." I said.

"Okay, Well that's it. Have a good day everyone." She said.

"You too!" I said and she walked out.

"Oh man my nerves were getting the best of me there for a second." I said while exhaling.

"But hey, You passed! That means you're doing what you're supposed to do. You are a good father, Luke." Ash said.

"Thanks, Why don't we go for some food. I'm starving now." I said.
