Chap. 4: Maddie

I look at him wide eyed, looking around. It was night, and that would've meant she shouldn't be in the open. When it came to darkness, it was a monster wonderland. I look at the camp, that was going to be my home, for probably the rest of my life. Even though other people called it home, I called it just another simple campground. He looks at me, his eyes shining in the moonlight. Boy, he looked adorable. He reminded me of one of my best friends. But since I left, that changed. He found new best friends, but on the inside, he was flirting and was trying to make them love him. Such a player. I shake my head at the thought, but realize Eric is staring at me worriedly.

"Are you okay?" He asks, placing a hand on my shoulder, causing the place where he touched to burn. I nod and look at him, giving him a reassuring smile "Yeah. I'm fine." I reply, walking into the camp. The saytr smiles "I'm Jasper and welcome to Camp Half-Blood!" He greets, making me groan on the inside. Truly he sounded like an advertiser you would see on TV, but with tan skin, a skinny body and goat legs and horns. As we walk, he showed us every cabin and the lake, making Eric grin like an idiot. He was a son of Posiedon after all, so he was going to love water. Jasper snaps his fingers at Eric "Earth to Eric... Come on. You can make flirty faces later at the water, when we're done." He sighs and starts to walk off, as I follow behind him.

"Where to next?" I ask, walking forward. He turns around and looks at me, his brown eyes clearly amused. "Well, get to your cabins before the nymphs eat you." He smirks and spookily, walks away into the darkness, making us chuckle. I look over at Eric, as I notice him already looking at me. I blush and bite my lip "Erm. I'll just be going to my cabin now." I say, turning to walk away, but he turns me around and pulls me into a hug. I smile and hug back "Have fun in the water, water boy." I grin and poke his cheek, walking off to my cabin, and getting greeted by a girl, with black spiky hair, wearing a leather jacket that you would usually see on a motorcycle rider. I raise my eyebrows. "Hi.. I'm Maddie." I say, cautiously watching her. She rolls her eyes "Newbee, you are in the wrong cabin, there's no way you're a daughter of Zeus." She counters, her arms crossed. I roll my eyes, and a crack of thunder, cracks behind me, making me grin. I look at her face, which was full of shock. I raise an eyebrow higher, pushing past her, as she follows "Sorry. There aren't very many Zeus children. I'm Grace nice to meet you, new sister."

 "I'm Marie. Nice to meet you too." I say, backing off a little, then finally nodding and shaking hands with her. "You are lucky." She says, pointing at me and smiling smugly. "I can't pull my prank on you." She creates a small lightning bolt between her fingers, like a stunner. I cross my arms, wondering how many campers were caught... in the lowest parts. She shakes her head and sits on her bed, pointing mine right beside hers. The place looks like a bank from the inside. All these furniture just don't fit with the painting on the walls. I place my bag on my corner table and lay down on my bed, placing my hand under the pillow and feeling the cold underneath it. Grace, or whatever is her first name, turns around and grabs a Mp4 from her bag, putting her headphones on. I could only listen some annoying noises at that distance, like sharp nails scratching a black board. "By the way," Her voice is loud, as if she was listening the music in a high-powered stereo. "If you snore, I'll kill you." She turns the lights off. She looks like a ghost from here, with the Mp4 light hitting her face. Even more scarier than before. And hell, she is sleeping with her jacket on! I don't know if I can sleep peacefully after this. I turn to the wall, trying to ignore the music and eventually, her snoring and thinking about Eric, what he is doing right now and if he have a roommate too. Unfortunately, he has.
