I can't stop looking at her eyes, her gaze is capable of stopping a clock. I finally regain my attention and shake my head. "Sorry." I say, almost unbalancing and falling on my back. "What happened with you?" I randomly ask, with my heart beating fast. I was pratically having my first real conversation with a girl of my age.

She looks up and bites her lip, nervously "My family was killed in front of me, and I was forced out of my home." She explains, to me looking back into my eyes. She looks as if she was in a daze, and it was starting to worry me.

"Oh. I'm sorry." I say, feeling a bit guilty, I don't know why. I just have a compulsion to apologize for everything, consequence of living with abusive parents. "Well..." I look to the stars, and to the curious constellation in the shape of a girl using a bow and arrow, trying indirectly to change the subject.

She looks up and lays beside me, her blonde locks everywhere. I look over at her "Do you know what constellation that is?" I ask, smirking challengingly. She looks over at me and grins. 'Oh great. I probably shouldn't have asked that' he says to himself. "It's Artemis, idiot." She says to me, right after I asked. Geez, this girl was smart.

"Never heard of it." I look back to her, smiling and poking her when the moon appears between the clouds. She was the girl I just met, but I was seeing her as a friend. Like she could accept me for who I am. When she told me that she lost her parents, I wondered where my real father could be right now. With another woman? Another family? Dead? Who knows...

She looks at me and winces "Hey!" She exclaims, poking him back, giggling, at me. I chuckle too and look away. How could such a nice girl have her life ruined? It could've been someone less nice. I sigh. 'No. That would ruin someone else's life..."

'Damnit... why did I thought this?' I start to poke my head, trying to get that thought out of my mind, stopping when she turns at me and blushing a little. She may think that I'm strange, or just one of those nerds who gets a beating everyday at school. I keep watching the stars with her by my side.

She laughs at me and looks up at the stars as well. CRACK CRACK.. She sits up immediately next to me. What's she doing? I ask myself sitting up, watching her. She takes out a sword, that used to be her ring, is it turns into a golden sword. I widen my eyes backing away. This has just turned into chaos "Holy shit. How did you do that?!"

"This ring is actually a sword." She replies, as if this was normal to her. "I-I-I'm on drugs..." I desperately look to all sides, supporting my head with my hands. This can't be true. The noise becomes louder and closer at every second. I crawl back and stand next to her, preparing for what's to come. She runs in front of me and walks towards the noise, holding the sword to the things neck. He took this move as an advantage and flip her onto her back. I widen my eyes as she groans. "It's not a monster.."

"It's a... donkey-man..." I point him, with my shaking hand, staring at his furred legs with... hooves. "I need to see a doctor." I fall on my shoulder, not believing in what I was seeing. Did she drugged me or something? I can't try anything, that man could be one of her friends. Instead I simply close my eyes. Unfortunately, when I open them, he is by my side, gently slapping my face. "Wake up!" He whispers.

I hear her sigh, her arms crosses "Dude.. Don't slap him. That won't solve anything." She says, standing behind the weird man. She looks at me, a worried look in her eyes, she kneels beside me, and puts a hand on my shoulder "Are you okay?" She asks me, making my heart race. This girl couldn't be real. How is it possible? I simply hold out my hand and touch her cheek. She blushes, and looks at me "Erm.. What are you doing?" She asks.

"Just checking if you aren't a hallucination." I slowly start to move my fingers on her now hot cheek, making a happy and disappointed expression. Happy because she is real and I'm caressing a girl's cheek. Disappointed because this guy with hooves instead of feet is also real, and not some midnight prank or symptoms of schizophrenia. She blushes even more as I caress her cheek. She pulls away from my touch and turn towards the satyr. "Let's go." She says to the goat man and looks at me, as if I was crazy. I was, but not that much. "Are you ready?"

"Yeah, I think so." He offers me his hand, helping me get up. "By the way, it's 'Satyr'." He corrects, poking my chest while I hang my bag on my shoulder, while they do the same. "Let's go to... wherever we are going." I feel more confident now, like I was ready for something big. Suddenly, a blue glow start to shine above my head, and I notice everyone looking gaping at me, raising an eyebrow. I look up and nothing. To the sides, nothing. I try to catch the font of the glowing, but I only grab a few strands of hair. What the hell is going on? "The trident..." The satyr stares this thing in my head. "Poseidon, the god of the seas."

She widens her eyes at me and look at me like I killed 5 puppies. I gulp. "What's going on?" I ask calmly, but there was nervousness in my voice. The saytr sighs at me "You're being claimed, by one of the Big Three." He replies, taking my wrist. "We don't have much time." He says, pulling me and Maddie with him. After some minutes of running, we arrived to a weird entrance to what seemed to be a camp. Cabins were lined up like kindergarten kids, waiting in line. I look up at the sign and widen my eyes, as the words immediately come out of my mouth as if I knew it my whole life "Camp Half blood?" I ask. The goat man nods while Maddie glares at the sign, unable to read it. I see her look down and back away. "I'll see you, Eric. Stay safe, okay?" She asks me, her eyes boring into my eyes

"Wait!" I free myself from the satyr and run towards her. "Why can't you come inside?" I ask, as if she was very special to me, blushing a little. I just can't avoid it.

She looks at me, and bites her lip "I'm not one of you. I can't read that, and I wasn't glowing." She explains to me, as if I were a baby. I look down and look at her again "You were my first friend.."

"Really?" My heart started to beat fast when she said that. "I--uhm... you were my first real friend too." I became more red than a cherry, due to my pale skin. Sometimes it's kinda embarrassing. I find myself holding her hand, with my eyes full of hope.

She squeezes his hand reassuringly "Be safe, okay?" She says to me, giving me begging eyes, as she steps back and starts to walk off. I feel my heart drop. My first friend and she was already gone.

"I'm sorry, but we have to go." The satyr turns back to me, taking my wrist Suddenly, the rain starts to fall without any signal. It's perfect to demonstrate the sadness in my heart in this moment. I look back only to see my only friend walking away. But at the last gaze, I fright when a lightning bolt falls right on her head.

She didn't seem to know what was going on, but I screamed in fear, running towards her "Maddie?" I ask frantically, trying to find her. She turns around and raises an eyebrow, her eyes filled with hope, "Yeah?"

"You're not dead." I automatically hugs her, burying my head on her shoulder, while the rain wets our hair. She looks confused but hugs back. "Two children of the Big Three. You guys just made up my night!" The satyr says as if this was the most important thing in his life.

She looks up, a confused look in her eye, as she entangled her fingers in my hair, ruffling it. I chuckle and ruffle hers. She pouts her bottom lip "Meanie." She whines and turns to the saytr "But I can't read Greek.." She says, as I look down at her. "Lightning bolt? That could only mean one thing..." I take a deep breath. "You're a daughter of Zeus. The king of the gods."
