And just like that he dashed out the exit, gunshots sounding down the hallway and to the parking lot. I quietly sat down behind the sink, hands over my ears, hoping he'd make it back to me.

The gunshots came to an abrupt stop, leaving me with the only sound of my heartbeat pounding in my throat. I soundlessly stood up and made my way towards the bathroom door, hoping my clusy self doesn't trip and back bring another sound to life.

I opened the door, leaving myself vulnerable to the predators outside whose only goal in life is to hunt their prey. Taking a deep breath, I stepped outside and just as I was about to walk down the long narrow passageway toward the double exit doors, I crashed into someone's chest.

This person's arms immediately encircled my waist, one hand resting on my lower back and the other one behind my head, caressing my loose blonde locks. Lemon and aftershave invaded my senses and just like a switch that left me utterly confused my already stiffened posture slightly relaxed at his touch, my arms hanging limp at my sides, not having the courage to return the hug.

He slightly pulled back, letting his forest eyes run over my face in search of any injuries although he's the one who just came back from battle. I nodded, letting him know that I was alright and silently hoping that he'd understand what I meant and that I wouldn't look like a total creep who just nods at random moments.

As my eyes shamelessly trailed down his gorgeous features towards his lips, he suddenly pulled back, scratching the back of his neck and walking off towards his car at the front of the school.

Frowning, I followed behind him deciding that I should probably start heading home too since it's getting late and I still have to start dinner if I want to eat since mom is probably still across the street drinking her sorrows away at the all too famous, Joe's Bar.

I shuddered thinking about what would happen when she would stumble through the front door later tonight and as I started my route towards my destination, Damian surprised me once again.

"I'm not gonna wait forever, Sunshine!", He yelled as he leaned against his 67 Impala that left me completely dumbfounded and breathless that he'd have this model.

"Sorry what?"

Sensing my confusion, he sighed in annoyance and took long quick strides towards me.

Well, it's certainly not my fault you're not making any sense.

"Get in my car Sunshine, before I drag you there", he ordered once he reached me and before I could utter a reply, he took my hand in his and gently lead me towards his car, sending electricity up my arm where his thumb caressed mine.

He opened the passenger door, waiting for me to make myself comfortable before he closed the door and jumped into the driver's side. He reversed into the street and soon enough we were on the road.

I took in his car, loving how it fit his personality perfectly. I smiled at the black leather seats and as I looked at the front I noticed an infinity necklace dangling from the hook of the rooflight.

Whose is it?

I grimaced as the diamonds shone in the late afternoon light.

It looks like a girl's necklace. Wait, does that mean he has a girlfriend? Oh cheese and sprinkles, will she be mad that I'm probably in her seat, catching a ride home with her boyfriend?

That made me realize that Damian doesn't know where I live, brushing off the necklace and making a mental note to ask him about it later.

"Uhm, do you even know where I live?" I questioned looking toward him as he concentrated on the road, eyebrows creased and currently I his own world.
