"I'm telling you high school's all about how attractive you are." I argued. My Bestfriend Dayna and I have been debating for the past hour on how popularity is based on attractiveness.

"I still think it's the personality of oneself." Dayna retorted. "Are you for real? Have you seen Ashley! She's the hottest girl in school but her personality is shit." I replied.

"She umm, she must be nice to her friends?"

"Hell to the no. HELL NO. Her friends are fake bitches. I kind of feel sorry for that girl. Actually wait, I don't." I replied nonchalantly.

Dayna and I have been bestfriends since freshman year. She was the newbie who nobody wanted to hang out with and I was the nerd that nobody wanted to hang out with except for one dude. Friendship made in heaven.

After a few more minutes of arguing, the door bell rang. "Ah, your favorite guy's finally here!" Dayna smirked. Instead of giving a snarky reply I ran to the front door to open it.

"Hey weirdo!" Chase high fived me. "Hey loser! You're right on time to hear one of the biggest debates in history." I chuckled. Chase hated it when Dayna and I debated on serious topics. He felt like two year old among two old ass adults. Perks of being a full on nerd and the cons of being a footballer with a nerd bestfriend.

Chase groaned and dejectedly climbed up the stairs to Dayna's room. I chuckled at him.

"So what's the topic for today?" Chase asked Dayna while plopping himself on her bed. "Popularity. Oh and how physical appearance plays a role in it." She replied. "Well, I don't know if it's of any help, but yeah, appearance is one of the main aspects of popularity. I'm a living example." Chase muttered. "I win." I slammed my fist in the air.

Chase looked at me confused. "I was batting on the appearance side, while Dayna didn't." I explained, "So I win. Thanks player! You actually helped me win a debate for the very first time." I patted him on his back. He swatted my hand away like I was the plague.

Dayna huffed, "You don't win. I want you to prove it."

      "Prove what?"

"Prove that appearance matters when it comes to popularity."

"And how do you think I'll do that?" I asked, clearly perplexed.

"You'll find a way. I'm sure of it. But just for the record, this debate isn't over yet, Maya." Dayna sternly said.

"It's on. I'll prove you wrong." I smirked.

"Ok. I don't want to be involved at all. AT ALL." Chase demanded.

"Nope, you're in it. C'mon loser! Don't leave your bestfriend alone in the battlefield." I exclaimed.

I wasn't one on losing debates. Hell, I was the debate team captain for a reason. And I have one hell of an idea for proving Dayna wrong.

I, Maya Parish, take up this challenge to prove that if you're hot you're popular.
