Mufasa swiftly ran towards the edge of the outlands to meet his brother Scar. Today was Simbas ceremony and his uncle Scar wasnt there.
"Scar, Scar come out now!"Mufasa shouted. Slowly Scar peaked out the darkness to meet his brother.
"Why hello there. What brings you here brother?"Asked Scar in a deep, sly voice.
Scar was a big male lion who looked quite inoccent and sick but was really a vicious hunter inside. His thick, black mane was uneven and his claws were extremely sharp. His eyes were a bright emerald green colour with a deep red scar torn down his right eye. He was a strong figure and wasnt to be messed with.Ithink you know very well why.
"Simbas ceremony!" bellowed Mufasa
"Oh yes. Was it today, whoops! I must have ...forgotten. I'm very sorry." said Scar trying to sound sympathetic.
"YOU FORGOT! I came and told you yesterday. Now Simba is going to be your king so you must respect and treat him as one. Don't disapoint me, you are my only brother and I need you to step up for Simba." Mufasa was making it clear on how important this was to him.
"Yes maybe your right but he's only a child and he isn't king yet" Scar mentioned.
"No, he isnt but I am so you follow my orders, and even though he isnt king yet you should still respect him as my son." He replied, getting agitated. As Mufasa turned his back to leave Scar leapt for him. Mufasa sidestepped and then let off a huge roar in which the whole pridelands heard. He quickly turned his head and gave Scar a look of disgust. Mufasa walked home back to the pride lands to talk to Sarabi.
"Hello darling, are you ok? How did it go?" asked Sarabi worried because she had never seen Mufasa this annoyed.
"I guess it was ok. He just doesnt look at Simba in the way I do." Sighed Mufasa.
Sarabi then went on to ask,
"Was that your roar earlier it was really loud and i nearly came to get you.""Yes it was mine but dont worry, there was just a small misunderstanding. Im ok really. Look, its geting late now so you should head inside and get some rest, we've had a busy day"
Ok dont stay outside too long." As Sarabi walked away Mufasa sat there, gazing at the stars. They shone brightly, beaming over the pridelands. This was where he came to think and recive advice from the great kings of the past.Once he had relaxed his mind and body, he headed inside to find the rest of his pride silently asleep. He took one last look at his family before he gently closed his eyes, lulled into sleep by the sounds of the night.
