was staring at the books on Miko’s bookshelf when he packed clothes in his suitcase. It was the beginning of summer and school for Miko was over. Mason went back to his normal time at the hospital but for some reason didn’t go today. To be truthful I haven’t seen him all today…didn’t come down for breakfast or lunch. I know Ollie took his food upstairs for Mason but I didn’t watch what room he went into to but I have a feeling it was Mason’s dark room. I focused on Miko’s movement when he came in front of me to grab more clothes. I didn’t want him to leave for the summer; he was going to spend time with his ‘dad’ for the summer. I knew Leo wasn’t his real dad but Miko still called him dad. “Will you paint me something?”

“What?”

“Paint me something…over the summer. So when I come home I can hang it up on my wall and it’ll give you something to do.” I’ve been struggling with no using again but I had Miko to keep my mind off it but since he’s leaving all I’ll be doing is thinking about using again.

“I’ll try,” He smiled and closed his suitcase.

“Miko! Leo is here,” Ollie called from downstairs. My heart dropped but I stood up and picked up some of Miko’s suitcases.

“Thank you,” He said and we made our way downstairs. I put the suitcases next to the front door; Leo was a slim guy normal height for a guy. He and Ollie seemed very close by the way they were talking to each other.

“Hello, Mason.” Leo smiled looking at Miko.

“Wait your real name is Mason?”

“Yeah I never told you that?” Miko asked scratching his head.

“No! No wonder why Mason calls you Miko it would get to confusing.” I felt Leo’s eyes glaring on me. I looked at him, “What?”

“Nothing…”

“Stop looking at me like that then.” Miko put a hand on the small of my back.

“Well…I guess this is bye again for another summer,” Ollie said hugging Miko.

“I’ll see you in August,” Miko said hugging Ollie tight. I looked around to see if Mason was down here, he wasn’t.

“Mason isn’t coming down to say bye?” I asked looking at Ollie.

“He already said bye to me last night.” Miko said.

“Good so I don’t have to see that bastards face.” Leo said, Ollie shot him a look.

“Shut up what did he ever do to you?”

“It’s what he did to…”

“Please don’t…” Miko cut Leo off, Miko looked down and picked up his bags handing them to Leo. Miko walked over to me. “Bye, remember the painting.”

“I won’t forget.” Miko stood on his tippy toes and hugged me so his face was touching my neck.

“Please don’t do anything stupid,” He said nuzzling his face into my neck.  I looked up to see Leo staring at me with pure hate in his eyes. Ollie was just standing there awkward.

“I won’t,” I pulled away from Miko and kissed him on the mouth. “Have fun.” I pulled away from him, stepping over to Ollie. Miko was blushing and nodded at me. When Miko and Leo left Mason finally came down from where ever he was hiding.

“Did he leave?”

“Yup they are gone.” Mason crossed the room over to Ollie.

“Now if we can get rid of him,” Mason said pointing at me.
