I'm not sure how long I was lying on that cot, but when I finally became conscious again, all I remembered was water, and a lot of it. My mind was nothing more than a clouded mess, I could only remember bits and pieces of what happened. That was before I felt the sharp pain on my side, then it call came back.

My mind was still pretty foggy, I could only remember pieces of what happened. Panic was a strong memory, panic and doubt, but those are same old same old emotions for me. Water, oh the goddamn water! It was like I could still feel it in my throat as I thrashed in that wet darkness.

After a quick refresh on the current events, and another moment to calm my pulsing heart, I slowly opened my eyes to find myself staring up at the ceiling of some kind of tent. The air smelled crisp, like pine trees, and just by the way the air felt I could tell we were on higher ground. The mountains.

I suddenly heard movement from my side, and I turn my head just quietly enough to where I wasn't heard by the other presence in the room with me. I had to crane my neck up to get a good look, but when I seen who it was, I could have sworn I felt my heart miss a few beats.

It was Jason. He was sitting in a chair a few feet away from my cot, turned at an angle as he fiddled with one of his X ninja stars. It was a normal sight, except for one thing. His mask was off!

Heart beating faster now, stomach feeling as if it was about to explode, somebody stab me now. I couldn't help my jaw dropping at the first sight of his face. He was hella handsome! Shaggy dark brown hair, sharp cheekbones, I could feel my face getting warmer by the second.

His head turned a little more toward my way and I was able to see his deep forest green eyes. I remember saying before that if I could see his eyes, I would be lost in them, and I was right. It took every bit of strength just to tear my gaze away so I wasn't staring like some googly eyed she-wolf.

The one trait that strangely stood out to me most was the one white streak in his hair in the right side of his face. It was certainly odd, but honestly, it made him way hotter in my opinion.

It was sudden embarrassment when Jason abruptly turned his head and seen me staring. He did that stupid annoying smile be always did, and it was more annoying now that I could actually see it. "I knew I felt some eyes on me."

Just the look on his face helped me understand. "You did this on purpose, you sneaky prick."

He chuckled as he stood and began walking over to me. "I think you should already know that I'm all for the element of surprize." He sits on the edge of the cot. "How do you feel, Princess? You look like a corpse pulled out of a lake."

"Wrong." I snicker, sitting up on my elbows. "I look like a supermodel who just had sex in her own private hot tub."

He found the joke hilarious, but I was just too busy gawking over his perfect white teeth. It felt so weird, actually being able to see his face.

My eyes suddenly widened as I finally remembered what he had done. "Why didn't you just leave me in that damn hole like I said, dumbass?" This was something I needed to get off my chest, And I began by giving him a sharp slap on the shoulder. "If you would have died, I wouldnt know what to do with myself. I'm not worth something like that!"

"You know I would never have left you alone there to die. I would never be able to bring myself to it." He rubbed his now sore arm. "Besides, I'm used to these situations where I'm having to save your ass."

My lips curled into a playful snarl, only because I knew he was joking. "I had the whole situation under control! It was me who thought about the bomb to get my wings out."
