Cats & Dogs
I still couldn't believe how big this place was. It's probably more land than all of the properties we own—well use to own, combined! Plus the scenery was simply amazing. I think I could get use to this.
As we finished the tour and I entered ahjusshi's home, something about it made me feel instantly comfortable. Perhaps it was the atmosphere? I'm not entirely sure but it was nice. It was really nice actually.
And where did that gege of mine even go? I removed my shoes and noticed water on the floor. What happened here? I stared at it for a little bit longer but then was called into the dining room. I regained my senses and quickly followed the voice of baba.
Entering the beautiful yet simplistic furnished room, I discovered the elders all in their seats. There were two empty seats located right next to mama who was sitting on the left side of the table across from ahjusshi Zheng and baba with an empty seat in between them. Hm, where should I sit? I thought about it for a moment but then saw mama sending me a pointed look telling me to sit next to her.
I pouted and went for the seat furthest from her in case she would swat my elbows for being on the table or pinch my thigh when I eat too fast.
Yifan can sit next to mama. I grinned but before I could sit, baba stopped me. "Xiazi, greet Mr. Kim." He instructed.
I blinked at him confused and then I remembered the elderly man who had asked if we wanted a tour when we arrived. I turned to find him seated at the head of the table near me. "No need, dear. I know who you are. Your parents talked about you and your brother plenty of times." He chuckled. For some reason, he reminds me of halmeoni. "You could call me grandpa if you want."
My heart softened, they are quite similar. "Yes, grandpa," I replied, bowing and then taking my seat.
As we waited for everyone else, mainly Yifan and Mr. Zheng's daughter, to arrive, the adults were catching up which made me feel left out. I had no idea what they were talking about and frankly this was quite boring. Then like he heard, Yifan finally reunited with me. Don't tell me he was calling Hyunri or something. He took a seat next to me but the adults were still too engrossed with their conversations to notice.
"Oppa where were you? Ahjusshi and I turned around and you were gone." I muttered.
"Aish, I don't even want to talk about it. Some maniac threw water on me then kicked my shin and if that wasn't enough she shoved a bucket over my head!" he exclaimed loud enough for the elders to hear.
They all ceased talking.
"Eh? Someone on this farm did that to you? That's impossible," Grandfather Kim defended.
Is he serious? He got beat up by a girl? Does he not know how big he is? Couldn't he protect himself?
"I know you don't want it to be true but it did happen and this bruise on my shin is evidence." Yifan reasoned trying to be polite as he displayed his injury.
"It's so purple and swollen!" I commented sort of intrigued as I was poking the contusion.
"Yah don't play with it." he winced rolling his pants back down.
I frowned and slouched in my seat. Then soon little footsteps were heard and all of our eyes fell to the entry way. Ah, must be ahjusshi's daughter.
Maybe, she's cool. But being this rich, she's probably spoiled and annoying like Hyunri.
Then out came a girl in a t-shirt and shorts. Omo! She's that girl from the banquet! But before I could state my discovery, "YOU!" echoed through the room as Yifan and Yunhee— I think that's her name, pointed their index fingers at the other.
