Chapter 4

I am extremely sorry darlings, for this late update. Now that my exams are over,i promise to try and keep these regular. I'll try for a weekly update, with a few chapters as a treat thrown in here and there ;) Let's continue...

Emmett's POV

"I think I'll go and check on him." Bella said.

"No!" Mom spoke at last, not looking away from Rhea's face. She was trying hard not to cry. "He's too angry, as he has the right to be. Bella let me introduce you to Ritsika Rathee, Edward's best friend, sister and the only link to his previous life."

Rhea ran towards Mom still crying. I looked on in shock as Esme gathered the taller woman in her arms like a mother would take her crying daughter.

"Mamma", Rhea confirmed my suspicions as she sobbed in Esme's arms, even as Dad took them both in his arms.

"Daddy, I am so sorry daddy. It was for the best. I couldn't stay and I couldn't let him remember. He would have slipped again daddy." Rhea now resembled a 6 year old girl, asking her daddy to give her, her favorite candies.

"I know princess." Carlisle said soothingly, with much love, "I know. And he knows it too. Come, let's get you home. You are shivering. And you need to explain this to your new brothers and sisters too. And tell us where you have been."

Mom, who had been shedding vampire tears by now, looked up from her embrace to realize that Dad was right and she was shivering.

Brother! Shit! Technically, I'll be her brother. Well Rosalie was Edward's sister too. What? Where are these thoughts coming from? Am I trying to move on? Or maybe I'm looking for a rebound through a girl who was so beautiful; it would have made Rose jealous. Maybe this was it. I was looking for a rebound through a girl, who was every bit as fine, maybe even more, as Rose yet free of her vices. I shook my head. I have officially lost it.

Gathering Rhea up in his arms, like a baby, Dad ran home, even as we followed. The sun was mere minutes from rising and I stood by the gates, waiting for Edward who came in exactly 24 seconds later.

"You may have forgiven her dad. Don't expect the same from me." Edward said, anger obvious in his voice, yet I realized the pain of betrayal, I see every time I see the mirror, etched on his face.

"I understand your anger, Edward. But at least listen to her." Carlisle said in his calm voice.

We all reached the living room, gathering around Mom and Rhea, our new sister; I cringed at the thought, thankful that Edward isn't paying attention to me for now; as we have gathered for so many decisions. This was new. We usually chose the dining room for this but I think this is to make Rhea comfortable. She was already cocooned in a heavy blanket.

She had calmed down considerably now, as she sipped slowly at the water someone has brought her, Alice maybe. Rhea looked up meeting the eyes of Bella, Alice and Jasper before stealing a quick look towards me. What was that about? Ah! She wasn't looking at me, I thought as I saw that, Edward stood a little behind me.

"Princess, how long have you been travelling by foot?" Dad asked suddenly, displeased, looking at the 'godde- Rhea! Rhea! Rhea!' take off her boots.

Edward suddenly looked at me, confused. "What?" he asked the same confusion in his voice.

"What?" I said, suddenly defensive. I didn't want him to know, I harbored some not so innocent feelings for his sister.

Instead of answering me, he turned to look at Rhea, with anger and surprise in his eyes. "How?" he asked her.

Rhea flinched. "Bhabhi" she said. Edward's eyes widened even as he looked at Bella. What did I miss again?

Rhea turned her beautiful chocolate ringed eyes on Jasper and said, "I have blocked all your thoughts from Edward, so that he has some reprieve from the thundering in his mind. I can use the exact powers you all have though at a smaller level. And Edward asked me how did I block all your thoughts because I couldn't do that last time, and I answered 'Bhabhi' that means sister-in-law in Hindi. I used Bella's powers as a shield. There is no vampire power that can stop my powers. I was able to do this, even before I was your guardian, as soon as I turned."
