I'm dedicating this part to the dear Miss-Sassy for following this story so devoutly. Thank you darling.
Rhea's POV
I woke up refreshed but dreading the talk that was to come later. I wasn't lying technically, but I was withholding the truth. I would never tell them the real reason for my leaving. I can't. I don't have the guts. As I stood up from my bed, I realized someone must have put my bag in here after Ed and Bhabhi brought it back.
I was quite liking the comfortable shirt I was wearing. I didn't know whose it was. Maybe Jazz's? I decided to merely put on a pair of comfortable yoga pants under the shirt and not change anything else. Putting my hair up in a bun, I hurriedly freshened up and went downstairs. Emmett was nursing his ego after losing yet another match of chess to Jazz and was sitting in front of the TV, watching baseball. Dad was upstairs in his office. Ed was sitting with bhabhi, awaiting their daughter, who was not more than a few minutes far. Alice was busy on her computer, designing my wardrobe, as I knew she would be while mom was designing a new house I think.
As soon as I reached the final stair, I felt a soothing calm go through me. I looked towards Jazz and sent him a smile skipping up to his side.
"Thanks bro!" I told him. Jazz smiled back in response. I then looked at mom who was still coloring in her book.
"Watcha designing mom?" I asked her.
"It's just a room yet, I'm thinking of designing a house for you." Mom said, her cheeks dimpling as she smiled.
"You are?" I exclaimed ecstatic. "Really mom? Wow! I have always loved your designs. Nevertheless, don't do a house yet. Only a room for here. I still have to work on my public story." I told her.
Mom smiled lovingly at me, "You can be another daughter we adopt?"
"That may not work anymore. There are too many kids now. I still have to talk to the council."
"What council?" Ed still sounded mad.
Before I could answer, we heard the distinct sound of a car coming to a stop outside.
"I'll tell everyone later." I said.
I was happy to see my darling niece. After the necessary introductions, as much as could be said, I was once again under scrutiny, quite angry stares in a couple cases actually. Everyone, surrounded me as I resolved and began the story.
"I'll tell you my story, which begins from the parts none of you know in Edward's story." I said to Emmett, Jasper, Alice, Bella, Renesmee and Jacob.
"India was under British rule in the last decade of 1800's and has been for a long time. My grandfather was a king of a small province there. He realized long ago the intentions of his family members and knew that he would be killed soon. Therefore, he sent his son, my father, to Chicago, along with his new wife and a shipload of money and slaves and learned men.
It was in Illinois, Chicago, that I was born. On the 27 of September, 1900; I was born, the first child of two. A year later, our neighbors had a son. A few years in, and we were best of friends. I had always wanted an elder brother and though Edward was younger, his protective instincts were too strong, and I was the younger sibling amongst us.
We were brother and sister, best friends and even mentors when necessary. Ed taught me how to read and I helped him learn how to fight. My father was a warrior and the only thing he would teach me since I was three, was fighting. I was the princess and could be queen if I married the right person."
I paused for a breath, coming out of my story telling and saw Jazz throw a worried glance to a very angry and confused looking Emmett.
"In 1908, the Spanish Influenza hit the county, taking Mr. Masen, and my parents with it. Somehow, my brother and I were immune, but Aunty and Ed caught the disease. I watched as my brother writhed and cried in sleep while Aunty, despite being in a worse condition, nursed him.
I knew before the doctors even told me, that she could not be saved, but I still prayed that at least my brother would survive. I wanted to take care of Ed, but I wasn't allowed. I may be immune, but they weren't sure and didn't wish to risk another patient. I remember how she was sure it was her last day and wanted me to call the doctor.
I didn't want it to be Ed's last day too so I hid from the small amount of nurses and doctors and sat beside Ed, nursing him, the best I could. I suddenly heard a slight sound and dove in the nearest bed. It was the nurse coming to check on Ed. Thank goodness she didn't see me. I soon dozed off and didn't realize. Presently, I heard Carlisle come in but I was too sleepy and he didn't realize that I was actually awake. I saw him wheel the gurney out and knew that Ed was not with me anymore.
I was too disheartened to really do anything, but I followed Carlisle shortly. Almost immediately, I saw that he didn't take Ed to the morgue. Rather he took Ed's limp seeming body in his arms and disappeared from my eyes. I think, subconsciously I knew what was happening. That's why I didn't let my body react since Carlisle first came in and now I kind of knew where I would find Ed. I like to think now, that it was fate. That is how we found our mates."
I stopped, taking a sip of water to hide my mistakes. I scanned everyone's thoughts and was thankful that no one had noticed.
Here's the first part of Rhea's story. What mistake do you think she is talking about? Do vote and comment darlings. I always like to know what you're thinking. Also, let me know who do you perceive Rhea as?
