The next day was horrible. Reed didn't show up at school at all. Good thing it was Friday. I had all weekened to convince Reed to explain to me why he was being such a jerk.

After school was over, I didn't stop to see if Preston could take me home, I litterally just ran. I ran three miles, knowing if I stopped I would want to curl over and die. No. After that, I ran another two miles before I reached Reed's house. When I stopped, I was completely out of breath. Gasping for air, I stumbled over to the front door. I rang the bell a couple of times and waited. I didn't hear Reed's dog bark, so I started to worry. After waiting a couple of more minutes, I opened the door. To my surprise, it was actually unlocked. I mean, Reed and I had exchanged house keys just in case there was ever an emergency.

I was hoping I would run into Reed's beautiful blue eyes, but all I saw was an empty house. No furniture. No people. Just the smell of febreeze.

I found my way to Reed's old room and sat down, leaning against the wall. After thirty minutes of crying, I heard footsteps coming up the stairs. I assumed it was the landlord of the house. I guess they must have heard me crying, because they entered straight into Reed's room.

"I-I'm sorry. I'll leave" I mumbled, standing up. My face landed right into someone's chest. I looked up to see Preston staring down at me. I wasn't going to question how he found me, I just cried into his shoulder.

When we arrived at my house, I decided to ask Preston how he found me.

"Hey, um, Preston" I asked, pulling my backpack into my lap. "How did You find me?"

"Well, when I didn't see Reed at school today, I assumed he didn't come to school. So, then when I didn't see you waiting, I started to worry. So, I called you several times, but you never answered. I went driving around a few neighborhoods. i saw that one house and the door was open with your bag on the ground. That's how I found you." He said, pulling his car keys from the ignition.

"Oh" I mumbled, opening the car door. I started walking my way up to the front door of my house, when I noticed Preston starting to follow me.

When I opened the door, Preston stopped me. "What?" I asked, throwing my bag over my shoulder.

"Who's house was that anyways?" He asked, moving out of the door way.

"No one's" I lied, tears about to burst. WIth that, Preston just left. When I got inside, I went straight to my room and dialed Reed's number.

"Hello?" I heard an answer. Okay, this was my last chance.

"Oh my god, Reed! Why'd you leave. Not even a goodbye?" I asked, a small tear dripping down my face.

"Um. I..i...I've got to go. Um, bye." He answered.

"Reed! Please, no!" I cried. And with that, he hung up. I whispered, "Don't leave me."
