Jellal's POV

Erza Titania Scarlet. She changed so much. I felt a tug in my heart. Guilt. A feeling I haven't had since the incident.

"Erza Scarlet," I growled as  And walked toward the exit. "What are you doing to me? And of all places, you decided to go here and ruin my life. For the good or worse."

I decided to skip my last class for the day. I quickly climbed the tall oak tree in the courtyard. I got out my phone.

Buzzzzzz.

Suddenly I got a text from Mystogan.

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
M: Did you see the new girl today?
J: Yup.
M: She looks like your friend from your childhood.
J: Don't.
M: Sorry bro. Still not over the incident?
J: Don't you start.
M: Okay, okay, I'm guilty!
Guilt.
M: I bet that you won't be able get her before the end of September.
J: You're on!
M: If you lose. . .
J: Fine. Because I won't lose.
M: We'll see Jelly, we'll see.
J: Don't call me Jelly!
I sighed. I just made a seriously bad decision. Was I right to agree to the bet? I looked down and saw the 'Fairy Tail' group. They are the most popular students in the school along with a few other individuals including me.
"Hi Mira!" The group chorused beneath me. Shoot. I should get going before they notice me. Then I noticed her. Her scarlet hair flowing gently in the breeze with a familiar gleam in her eyes. The sparkle that disappeared after that day.
I started to climb down silently, but then I decided to stay up there to see what the FT group was up to. (A/N: Most likely to see what Ezra was up too!)
"Let's play a friendly game of Truth or Dare for our new friend, Erza Scarlet!" I heard Mira say.
Uh oh. I've heard rumors about FTG truth or dare. Apparently it's a do or die game to them.
I sat in the tree for who knows how long. The FT group is very— uh— interesting. I mean just because of one simple dare, a brawl started! I shook my head, trying to get the leaves out of my blue hair.
Dang it! I think Erza saw me! I quickly ducked out of sight and climbed down the tree swiftly, all the practice paying off.
I grabbed my backpack off the base of the tree and started walking towards my apartment building. Honestly, I think almost everyone that goes to Fairy Tail High lives there. You could literally name it the Fairy Tail High Dorms.
I pressed my thumb against the scanner and the door swung open, revealing my apartment.
I threw my backpack on the red couch and got out my MacBook. I typed jobs available near me. All the jobs didn't fit my schedules. Except one. Take Over Café. The shifts fit in perfectly, and their food and drinks are heavenly.
I quickly signed up for an interview and leaned back on the couch.
Erza. Erza Scarlet. I wonder. Is this meeting a mere coincidence or fate. Probably a coincidence. I need a breather.
I grabbed my wallet and pushed open my door, revealing two girls. A silver haired girl, and a red head. No. It was scarlet, not red. What is Erza doing here?
"Oh!" Mira said as she noticed me. "Hi Jellal!"
I nodded in return and walked over to the two. "Who's this?"
"This is—"
"Don't act so innocent Jellal." Erza interrupted. "You know perfectly who I am."
"I do?" I pretended to be confused. "But I would remember the name of such a lovely lady."
Erza gave me her all-too-famous death glare. "You know I can beat you to a pulp. Just like I did in the hallway."
"Hold up," Mira stopped us. "What's going on? How do you know Erza, Jellal?"
"I don't!" I lied.
Mira frowned and then smirked with a mischievous look in her eyes and unlocked her door and went in, leaving it open partially. I groaned inwardly. Now I'm really going to be in the hospital! Probably for good.
"You don't know me Fernandez?" Erza growled menacingly. "You don't know me?"
Slap. The sound echoed along the long empty halls. The sparkle in her chocolate brown eyes replaced by burning hatred for me. Her beautiful eyes were watery, as if she was about to cry.
I felt a stinging sensation on my left cheek.
"How dare you?" Her voice shook. "How can you forget what you did to me Mr. Player? Apparently you like, no, love toying with girl's hearts."
A player. That's what Erza thinks that I am. A heartbreaker. A betrayer.
"Why Jellal? Why?" Erza's became more and more desperate. "Why?" Her words were almost inaudible.
I stood there in a daze, repeating her words over and over again in my brain.
"You are a cold, heartless, lifeless person," Erza spat and turned towards the door, taking a step.
I finally snapped out of my daze and grabbed her wrist, making her stop in her tracks. Not turning her head.
"I'm sorry," I whispered and let her go. I watched as the last of her scarlet hair disappear behind the door.
I trudged down the hall and into the elevator, pressing the 'G'
button. I leaned against the wall of the elevator and groaned in frustration, ruffling my hair. If only she hadn't moved here. . .
I headed toward Take Over Café. My shoes tapping along the dull, boring sidewalk. Apparently they're having a party today. It wouldn't hurt to go right? It is Friday after all. It starts at 9 and it's 8:47. It'll be good to take my mind of things. I decided.
Little did I know that this night would change my life forever.
