Erza's POV
Sunday. Which meant that Mira was with her siblings for the day. I had yet to find a church here, so I just listened to a sermon on the radio and ate breakfast. Alone.
I put the plate in the empty sink and heard the radio playing.
I walked towards the radio and turned it off.
I changed in a few seconds and slammed opened the front door, startling my neighbor. Jellal. I shoved past him and made my way to the stairs. I take the stairs to keep fit and it is healthier for you. I ran down the stairs, something urging me hurry.
I swung open Mira's mail box, a ton of papers and envelopes falling out. I gathered all of them and placed them in the bag I was carrying. I stuck my hand in the mailbox and drew a single piece of paper out. It was addressed to me.
I opened and read the first sentence, the envelopes fell from my frozen hands, tumbling onto the carpeted floor.
"Erza?" A hesitant voice called, waking me up from my trance. "You okay?"
I shook my head to get rid of the fuzziness and picked it up, something falling out of it.
"An airplane ticket?" Jellal stated as he picked the piece of paper up and handed it to me. "Are you going somewhere?"
"Oh, it's for Mira!" I thought quickly.
The blue haired boy nodded and made his way towards the double doors and went outside. I quickly made my way up and shut the door. I set the bag down on the counter and started to read the letter.
To my dear niece,
I have provided an airplane ticket for you in this envelope with the destination for Edolas. I got a new job offer there, and I was hoping if you could come along with me. I totally understand if you don't make it because of school and other activities since you just started at a new school. I just hope you would consider this at least once!
From your dear aunt,
PorlyusicaI reread the letter a few times. She's moving to Edolas? And she wants me to come with her? I glanced at the ticket. The flight was next week, on Tuesday.
The decision was obvious, right? I'm not going to move again. I already have really good friends here. I carefully put the letter and ticket in the envelope and carried it into my room and placed it beneath my pillow.
I sighed and flopped down on my bed, bored out of my mind. I'll just take a walk.

I breathed in the fresh air, my tense muscles relaxing. As I walked by the place Mira pushed Jellal into me, a voice called out on my left.
"Young lady!" I turned and noticed and elderly woman sitting on the bench, a comforting smile on her wrinkled face. I made my way towards her and sat down next to her as she beckoned to me.
"Can I see your hair miss?" She asked me. I was a bit taken back, but obliged to her question. I felt her hand gently stroking my hair, touching it carefully.
"I used to have red hair like yours," the woman sighed. "But look at me now!"
I laughed a bit and turned to her to reply, but I was interrupted.
"I'm sorry ma'am, but in a matter of fact, her hair is scarlet, not red."
I didn't even need to turn around to see the newcomer to recognize him. There was one person on this earth who called my hair scarlet, not red.
The lady laughed his statement, amusement gleaming in her kind green eyes.
"Did you follow me?" I asked Jellal suspiciously.
"Uh, no?" He replied.
I sighed and after quickly saying bye to the lady, I smacked him on the side of his head.
"What was that for?"
"Oh, I don't know. Stalker!" I retorted.
"I don't need to stalk you Erz," he laughed. "I already know you like the back of my hand!"
His eyes were gleaming with happiness, a look in his eyes raft I haven't seen in a long while. I cracked a smile, making a grin spread on Jellal's face.
Have I forgiven him? I don't know. I guess time can only tell.
"Let's have a race!" I suddenly suggested. "With our motorcycles!"
"Like the old days," Jellal grinned. "But we used roller blades back then, so this will be a change."
We ran to the front parking lot and grabbed our bikes. Jellal's bike was the color of his hair, blue. Mine was a deep red. Both had the Fairy Tail High emblem on them, since you needed it to park in the school parking lot.
I got on and kicked the bike to life, the smooth purr of the engine making my heart race with interception. I put my helmet on and turned to Jellal, who was also ready to go.
"Where too?" I shouted over the engines.
"In the country side so we don't get caught." He shouted back.
We rode at a swift but nice pace, dodging in between cars, earning some annoyed glances from some of the drivers.
I quickly pulled over to the curb and stopped, Jellal behind me.
"Why did you stop?" He asked.
"I wanted to tell everyone about our race!" I replied. "I'm inviting my friends, how about you?"
"I guess it won't hurt to an audience to see me beat you." Jellal shrugged.
I glared at him and quickly texted in the FT group chat, saying that the race was going to start in a few minutes.
"Let's make a bet," Jellal suggested.
"Sure, why not."
"The winner can do anything to the loser, but nothing too harsh."
"Deal." I said, and we shook hands. My hand tingled as our hands met, electricity running through my veins. I shook it off and took off towards the starting point where everyone had gathered. Jellal in pursuit.
