Monday, October 28th, he returns to school. A smile still across his face, he scans the entrance hall, soon coming to the conclusion something was different. The hallways were bustling with chatter, like usual, but today it was different, as soon as he walked in he felt eyes on him, he felt paranoid. He kept walking and as he continued to scan for his friends he caught glimpses of others looking at him, smiling like they had a dirty secret, or like they were tigers getting a good look at fresh meat. He began walking faster, but was knocked to the ground. Looking up what he saw wasn't a pleasant.

"Watch where you're going, Faggot." Cody said. It seems that Cody had been at Troy's neck since his rude welcoming on the first day of school. Cody's green eyes had an evil look that seemed to scream the word "run". Troy got up off the ground swinging his backpack over his shoulder. But was suddenly pushed back down.

"Cody, knock it off." Leo said. Coming out from the crowd.

"You're defending him after what he's been doing?"

"Knock it off." Leo stated again. Troy turned around after getting off the ground, and ran to the exit. Grabbing his phone, he immediately searching through his emergency contact. His anxiety was getting the best of him and he couldn't control himself.

"Hello?" Anne's voice resonated.

"Troy? Are you ok?" Her voice was beginning to panic, for good reason. All she could hear was troy breathing heavily. Before she heard him crying.

"A-Anne Pl-please..."

"Don't worry I'm already on my way." She said. She stayed on the phone until she got there. She found Troy crawled up in a corner. So out of it, all he could was rock back and forth. Picking him up She took him to the car putting him in the backseat.

"You feeling any better?" Bryce said stepping into Troy's room, closing the door behind him.

"Depends on what you define on 'feeling better'" Troy responded. He laid in his bed snuggled underneath his blankets.

"I'm sorry that we weren't there."

"Not your fault."

"Yes it is, I should've been there."

"Yeah well you weren't and it doesn't matter I think I might have gotten myself into this."

"Why?"

Troy sits up, as Bryce sits next to him on the bed.

"Because when Leo stood up to defend me, Cody said something about 'after what I've been doing' did I do, or say something on impulse?"

"The captain of the football team, Leo?" Bryce asked surprised and in complete disregard of what Troy said.

"Yeah I met him a few weeks ago."

"Troy stay away from him, he's trouble."

"You say he's trouble, but he defended me."

"Still, stay away from him." Bryce said, Troy laid back down. Bryce sat next to him, Troy flinched, but Bryce ignored this. He looked at the boy he cared so much for, the boy whom he became a guardian for. But just looking at him hurt Bryce. Realizing the boy in front of him was shattered, and worrying that something, anything could go wrong at any second, and thus like a broken mirror, one hit could send pieces flying.
