I open the door to the hotel room and step into the hallway. I drag Poppy to the car and we drive off to the concert. As soon as we get there, I look at all the lights illuminating the stage. We make our way to the front row, where are seats are, and sit down. The lights suddenly dim and Brendon, the absolutely beautiful Brendon, stands in the center of the stage. The crowd soon starts to roar and I'm so happy that I almost start to cry.
"Alright! Now, our last song of the night..." he pauses. I see his eyes move over to my direction. I make a confused look, almost like a lost puppy, and he grins very large. "Hey, why don't you get up here for this one?"
I blush and almost have a mental breakdown. I think in my head, he can't be talking to me, right? I point at me and he nods. I walk closer to the stage and he grabs my hand and pulls me up. He drags me to the center of the stage and I feel myself almost start crying, but I contain the feelings.
"Hey! Can you grab me a chair from backstage?" he yells to someone and they bring out a chair. I sit down and he says, "Alright, the last song for tonight is, 'When The Day Met The Night'."
I almost scream. He then begins to sing.... To ME. I blush as his face gets so close to mine as he's singing. The whole time, he's looking straight into my eyes, he doesn't even look at the crowd.
After the song ends, he grabs my hand and says goodnight to the crowd. He starts to bring me backstage.
"Wait, I need to get my friend," I say.
"Oh, okay," he replies.
I run down to get Poppy and we go backstage. Brendon sees me and he automatically smiles and gives me a hug, "I never did catch your name."
"I- it's... Alice," I stutter.
"What a beautiful name for a beautiful girl," he says, pushing a hair behind my ear. I blush and he giggles.
It was 12:36, so Brendon walked with me and Poppy back to my car.
"You should send me your CD, when you make one," he giggles.
"Will do," I say as we drive off. Once I know we're out of earshot, I screamed at the top of my lungs, and Poppy joined in. The whole way home, we sang Panic! songs louder than ever before.
When we got back to my house, Poppy and I crashed on the couch. We woke up the next morning feeling great. We got ready, then we practiced our new song in the basement.
We finally got it down perfectly, so we stopped and Poppy went home. I ran up the stairs, ran into my room, and fell down on my back on my bed. I stared up at my Brendon Urie poster for about 30 minutes before I dozed off into a deep sleep.
The next morning, I wake up, completely a wreck. I look at my clock, it's already 2:45 in the afternoon!
"Shit!" I yell and run down the stairs and out the door, music sheets in hand and guitar over my shoulder.
Poppy is sitting at her front doorstep, waiting for me. "Where have you been?"
"I'm so, so fucking sorry! I woke up late!" I apologize. I fork over the papers. We walk inside, go into her basement, set up, and go. We just let all of our sound out. We rocked it. We grabbed up our instruments, ran out to the van, which our best guy friend, David, drove up to Poppy's house.
"Hey guys!" he yells to us as we get into the van.
"Hey!" we say in unison.
"Are you guys ready?" he asks us, and for the first time, I considered my feelings. I felt like I was going to puke. My face goes as pale as a ghost.
"Are you okay, Alice? You look sick," he says.
"No, no. I'm fine," I reply. He nods uncertainly at me. I smile and Dave drives off. About an hour and a half later, we arrive at the venue. I get out of the van and walk up to the side stage door. I take a deep breath and push open the door. I see the huge stage, and my stomach does backflips. I get startled when Dave and Poppy come up behind me and push me out of the way.
"Look at this stage!" Poppy says.
"Yeah," I say, letting out a big sigh.
After about 10 minutes of basking in the stage, we start practicing, with Dave in the audience. After our first song, Dave claps and shouts, and the next one, and the next one. We finish the whole concert for Dave, and then people start showing up. The curtains are pulled together. Soon, the announcer calls out that we're about to play. 5 minutes later, we get in our spots, and the curtains get pulled back. Many cheers and claps spread all over the crowd. We start out first song, and I'm just skimming through the crowd, trying to find people I know.
Suddenly, I see the door in the back open, and I see a guy walk in. He walks up to the front row and I finally can tell who it is. It's. Brendon. Fucking. Urie. I almost squeal, but I keep playing. For about an hour, I keep playing like he had never walked in. After the concert, Brendon comes backstage. He runs up to me and hugs me.
"You're so good!" he says.
I blush, "Oh, thanks."
He giggles, "No problem, now, where's your CD?"
"Uh, well, we never made one," I laugh.
"That sucks," he frowns.
I suddenly, without thinking, just give him a huge hug.
"Woah, what's this for?" he asks.
"Thank you so fucking much for coming," I say, not able to let go of him.
"Oh, well, why wouldn't I go to my friend's concert?" he giggles.
"Um...." I say.
"What? Oh... Wanna be, more than, um, friends?" he grins.
I nod my head with a huge grin. He smiles and pulls me in really close and his lips crash into mine, but it felt good. Like two puzzle pieces that were meant to be together.
"Hey!" Poppy says, and we stop. "Dave's taking us home!"
"Oh, I can take her home, um, is that okay, Alice?" Brendon says.
"Oh, yeah, totally," I say.
"Alright, bye Alice," Poppy says as she follows Dave out to the van.
Me and Brendon walk out to his car. We drive for a half hour and we finally get to my house. My parents aren't home, luckily. Brendon and I go into the house. I bring him up to my bedroom. Next thing I know, we're sitting on my bed, kissing.
We kiss for a few minutes, but then it becomes a really deep make out session. Before I know it, he on top of me, us half naked. I stop him.
"What's wrong?" he asks, breathing heavily.
"I- I'm just not... Ready," I say, blushing.
"Ah, shit," he says and gets off of me. He sits at the end of my bed, rubbing at his temples.
"I'm sorry-"
"No, I should be the one apologizing, I should have thought-" Before I even know what I'm doing, my lips crash into his.
"I thought you weren't ready," he says.
"I am now," I reply.
