Passion, ambition, determination.

You would have to say that procrastination was most likely the worst thing about yourself. You'd been knowing about the big test for two weeks, yet you had waited until  two days before to start studying.

Knowing you would probably hurt yourself in the process, Kuroo decided to join. He mostly let you do your own thing while he sat on your bed, reading through the pile of books he had found near it.

He was so concentrated on the pages. His eyebrows furrowed and his bottom lip stuck out a bit. The book was a cheesy teenage novel and you almost laughed at his choice.

You looked down at the tea in your hands, suddenly upset. Your gaze returned to him. He was still in the same position.

"Kuroo, how do you do it?"

Kuroo's head snapped up at your voice. He seemed confused so you decided to continue. "You're always so determined to do whatever you want. How do you not give up, even though it causes you trouble?"

He let the words sink before a small smile spread on his face. He set the book down and sat near the edge of the bed. It took him a bit to decide on what he was going to say.

His words took your breath away.

"There are times when I really want to give up. But you know, I don't let myself give up.  I think that what I'm going to do is really worth it, because the outcome makes me happy. I think about it could make others happy too. Even though it gets hard sometimes, I really do believe something good will always come out of it." He pauses for a second, hand running through his hair.

"I also like to think that I'm inspiring others to do great things as well. Failure isn't something I can prevent, but I keep trying anyway, you know?" He finishes with a smirk. He's oddly satisfied with his answer.

Kuroo's cat-like eyes dart to the mug wrapped in your hands. You know he's seen your hands shaking. He gets up, then pulls up a chair next to you.

"Hey, it's okay. I'll help you. Keep trying, okay?" His hands wrap around your own. He's warm, and very comforting.

A few tears escape your eyes but you quickly wipe them away.

"Thank you." You give him a shaky smile, and he returns it with one of his own.

You wanted to thank him with more than just words. He meant way more to you than two simple words.
