I watched the ridiculously slow clock as it clicked each second. The red stick on its face was so infuriating, I wanted to smash the clock, rip off the second hand, snap it into a million pieces and burn them. And then, probably feed the ashes to a hungry wolf.

Violent, I know. But detention is boring, especially when your partner in crime is sleeping. And your enemy is too busy to try to inflict any kind of pain on you – so you can't even start a fight.

I tossed the papers around, juggled them for a while, rocked my chair and even went to the extent of counting the strands of hair on Ron's head. I went up to a twenty before he woke up and slapped my hand away.

I pulled out my phone, and texted Ron.

Billy: He's right next to you.

But he's sleeping. Wouldn't want to disturb him.

Billy: Are you being —

Dead serious, Billy. I'd hate to disturb Ron.

Billy: I'm starting to wonder –

No, you can't. You are my head. You can't doubt my sanity.

Billy: okay.

Ron jerked awake, started by the sudden buzz in his pocket. I shoved a fist into my mouth to keep myself from laughing. He accidentally hit his head on the table while waking up and jerked back with so much force that he lost his balance and fell down.

I gave in to my laughter. I threw my head back – almost losing my balance and started laughing at his condition.

"Not funny, Chad." He grunted, steam blowing out of his ears. (Well, I saw the steam)

"B – but i-it is!" I said, trying to form words. I think all he heard is, 'Bhaithahagaisbwahaha' or something like that. Whatever he heard, he glares at me as if I had just committed the greatest sin.

I helped him up just in time when the bell rang — telling us that detention is over. The supervisor was sleeping on the table, unaware of what just happened. Before leaving the room, I couldn't resist my urge to do something.

"Ron, you go ahead." I said as he opened the door and waited for me.

He smirked, as if he knew what I would do. I slowly tip
- toed towards the snoring teacher.

"THE ALIENS ARE COMING! THE SKY IS FALLING!!" I yelled in her ear and dashed out of the room, slamming the door shut behind me.

I ran and caught up with Ron, chucking as I heard her distant reaction, 'What!?'
