I I had ever said I was in deep pain, I must have lied.

My head is throbbing and the bones in my arms are aching. A fly buzzed at the window-the sound of its wings had never been so loud. The patter of its wings rang through my ears like bells of a church. Nt that I had been to many churches.

Talking about churches made my head throb all the more. It took me awhile to feel my muscles again. It even longer to realise that the cotton bed I lay in and window were the fly buzzed were not mine. The winds did not overlook a courtyard, nor a farm. It didn't overlook anything. A patch of grass. The cotton sheets felt cold to my skin.

'This is not my bed'

The fly found an opening in the window and flew away.

'This is not MY BED!' I yelled, loud. There was a loud crashing at the door and a red eyed Sandro appeared at the door, holding a dagger.

'What the hell?' He said after his eyes flew around the room, searching the for danger. When he found none, he looked over at me.

'This is not my bed.'

' I heard you the first two times.'

'Was there a problem with my bed?'

'No, I just didn't want us to get killed.'

'Who would want to kill you?'

'Oh, I don't know, maybe a den full of Templars?'

'Den full of- what? Where am I then?'

'The bureau. Underneath it. My bed.'

'Why?'

'Well, you were drunk this morning. '

'Huh?'

He sighed. 'Yesterday we had to protect the other den, remember? At night? But they attacked you instead. Then you went home. And got drunk, which is the stupidest thing I can imagine.. Are you out of your mind? What were you thinking? You got drunk, with Duccio of all people. It could have been anyone, but it had to be Duccio. I came looking for you to give some information. I couldn't get a word out because you were so damn drunk! Then you feel asleep! On me! I brought you here. You slept in my bed and I sat outside with a dagger and I haven't slept at all.' He rambled on.

'What?!'

'Uh.'

'You haven't slept yet?!'

He let out an exasperated laugh. 'Thats what you're worried about? That I didn't sleep?'

'After that long night, you need to sleep.'

'Valentina-'

'Here, have your bed. Sleep in it. It's yours anyway. I'm done with it. I've got the door if you want, you-'

'Spare me. I'll be fine. You need the rest. I can you later.'

'Later is now. I'm awake.'

'And hungover.'

'Right. What did you tell Duccio, by the way? I thought you hated him?'

'I do. And I didn't tell him anything. He wasn't there anyway.'

'Okay...'

'You should go back to sleep.'

'You should.'

'You should.'

'We both should.'

I moved over to the right side if the bed, patting the space on the left. Tiredness gnawed my insides but Sandro hadn't even slept yet. I would not sleep unless he would as well.
