The world Amy has known is gone. Infrastructure was completely destroyed; from all the buildings to the roads, the capital of the United States is destroyed. Not only that, but perhaps the entire country as well. Amy doesn't even want to know how many people have died from the atom bomb. She gasps when she remembers what happened before the bombs dropped.
"Mom...JEFFERY!" she screamed. Amy runs down the street to the hospital she was taken to. She looks around the area. No one was there, but debris and abandoned buildings. She couldn't recognize where she was. The area surrounding her was unknown. The destroyed infrastructure didn't help her either.
Amy finds a broken down ambulance. She opens the back doors to find nothing but a rotted body. She covered her mouth when smelling a foul stench. Dozens of flies buzzed around the decaying carcass. Amy shuts the doors. She looks around the dead city.
"Hello?! Anyone?!" No response. Everyone is gone. From the looks of it, the whole city is completely abandoned. Not a single sight of life anywhere. No survivors.
For the next few hours, Amy walks around the city. She looks up at the sky to notice it was getting dark. Finding shelter was the first thing she had in mind.
Amy walks over to the nearest building. She tried opening the door, but it was busted. Probably debris was piled from the inside. She tries the next building, and successfully opens it. She heads inside and looks around. Inside was a lobby she -for some reason- recognizes. She looks above the main lobby desk to find a big, Red Cross. A hospital? Amy slowly recognizes the place. It was the hospital she was taken to! She suddenly remembers.
She remembers the doctors and nurses rush inside the hospital with her on a stretcher. They were giving orders to each other to give her antidotes and other medicines to keep her alive. Amy groans. After being injected with the liquid to help calm her down, she felt very weak. She felt mostly sick because of sucking her mean teacher's blood.
The doctors and nurses took her inside an operating room. One doctor puts an oxygen mask on Amy. She breathes into it, before falling asleep.
Amy knows exactly where to go. She looks to where exactly where she needs to go. She heads down the halls until running into a few mysterious figures. She stopped to look at them. They look to be very bony and pinkish-skin.
"Um..hello?" Amy asked. "Could...you guys-"
The figures glance back at her, revealing their disfigured, skeletal faces. They hiss a screech at her very loudly. Amy gasps and backs away, but it was already too late for that. These creatures rose up and ran after her. She tries to think of something, but immediately thinks of herself turning invisible. The zombies stop chasing after her. They turned their heads around. Amy stood still, not moving a single muscle of her body. The zombies walk past her down the hall. She sighed and reappeared after they left. She runs up the stairs to the third level of the hospital.
Amy looks forward to find the room she was taken to, and the last time she saw her mother and brother. The door was completely shut. She slowly approaches the door and opens it. The room was a mess. There was a huge hole in the wall that lead outside. The wind blew with debris and old material flying in the air. She looks around the old room. A dirty bed, decaying wallpaper, and...two skeletons. One tall skeleton and one short skeleton.
Amy stood lifeless as she looked down at them. "M-mom..? J-Jeffery...?" She could slowly remember the two hugging her as the bombs detonated. She fell onto her knees. Her heart shatters to pieces.
"No...NOOO!!!!" she screamed. Amy runs over to the bones and hugs them, crying her heart out. She was in serious emotional pain. Tears streamed out of her eyes. A sense of heart break affected her badly internally.
"I-I'm so sorry! I'm so sorry for not protecting you!!!" she cried. "I'm sorry for everything Mom!" Her cries alarmed the zombies from the halls. They hissed loudly and hunted her down. Hearing them, Amy felt a snap strike inside her head. A sense of emotion, but this was different from any. Far worse than anger.
Amy breathes in and out as she feels a sudden transformation. Her teeth grew entirely sharp as well as her fingernails. They too changed color, from regular fingernails to black, razor sharp fingernails. Her red eyes glowed blood-red, covering the color all over her eyes.
As the zombies enter the room hissing at her, Amy glances back at them. She stands up and faces the creatures and hisses a demonic cry at them. One zombie ignores her cry and runs straight after her. Amy grabs it and digs her nails in its eyes. The zombie hisses loudly in pain. She tears her nails out to the size of the zombie's head.
"HIIIIISSSSSSS!!!!!!" screamed Amy. The zombies rushed at her. She takes one's arm and throws it right out of the hole in the wall. She spun back to swing her claws back at the next, ripping deeply into its skin. Blood gushed out and its small intestine hung out. Amy shoves the already dead zombie out of the way to the next. She grabs her next victim's head and completely tears it off and throws it at the next zombie. It stun the zombie, but Amy approaches it, grabs both its upper and lower jaw, and pulls down the lower. She rips out the zombie's lower jaw, then she stabs through both its soft and hard palate.
The zombie falls dead with the other dead bodies. Their blood was all over the floor, walls, and even on Amy. She stood breathing in and out fast like a wild animal. She screams at the top of her lungs, releasing all of her anger. Breathing slowly again, her fingernails, eyes, and sharp teeth turn back to normal. She fell onto the floor and stares at the two skeletons again. They were staring at her.
"Don't look at me....I'm a monster..." She covers her eyes and cries again. After a few minutes of crying, she looks back at them. She feels like doing something for them so no creature like the zombies she killed would mess with their skeletons. She wipes her tears and carries their bodies.

After digging up the dead grass, Amy carefully places the skeletons in the hole. She climbs out and slowly digs up the pile of dirt and places it back in the hole. She pats the dirt with the shovel. She doesn't want anyone to dig back up her grave she made for her mother and Jeffery. Amy throws the shovel far away and looks back down at the grave.
"Guys...I love you so much...I'll make a change to myself...I promise..." She takes a knee and kisses the dirt. Amy stands back up and leaves.
