It was Amy's first day of kindergarten and she was beyond excited. She ate a bowl of Sugar Bombs cereal while watching her favorite cartoon show on TV. The tasty, sugary flavor mixed with the silk milk always brightens her mood. She sat next to her father reading the newspaper and smoking his pipe. Her mother came over with a plate of pancakes for her husband and a plate of toast with jam for herself.

"Here you are, dear," she smiles.

"Thank you, my beauty," he smiled. "Things are looking good so far today."

"That's good," said Amy's mother. "So Amy, are you ready for your first day of school?"

"Yes!" the little girl smiles. "I can't wait to be smart!"

"Well that's great, sweetheart," said her father. "By the way, your mother and I decided that if you act on your very best behavior at school, we would take a trip to Nuka World."

"Nuka World?!?!" she asked.

"Only if you behave at school," her mother smiled.

"YAY! NUKA WORLD!" Amy cheered. "I'll be a very good girl forever and ever, so you can take me there all the time!" Her parents laugh.

"Well we'll see about that," her mother smiled.

"In the meantime, you have school to go to," smiled her father. "You'll love it." Amy smiles happily and finishes up her breakfast. Her mother picks out a nice little blue dress and then helps braid Amy's red hair. After brushing her teeth, she comes to get her pink backpack and her lunchbox. Her father gets the camera ready to take a picture.

"Say cheese!" he smiles.

"Cheeeeeeeeese!" said Amy. Her father takes the picture. The black and white photo came out perfectly, showing the little Amy smiling brightly. Soon after, her parents drive her to school. Amy stares out the window seeing many well-dressed people walking down the streets of town, greeting each other, having friendly conversations, and coming out from stores with groceries. Society was wonderful. She even sees cars driving by, and some people inside greet the people outside.

Amy's father parks the car near the school. The little girl opens the door and jumps out excitedly. She sees many kids her age walking inside the school with their parents. She and her parents follow everyone inside. Her father takes out an apple and hands it to Amy.

"Be sure to give this to your teacher," he smiles.

"An apple?" asked Amy. "In case if she gets hungry?"

"Well yes," he laughs, "but also to show her that you will be a good student."

"I'm positive she will behave, honey," said her mother.

"I'm gonna go inside," smiled Amy. "Bye mommy, bye daddy!" They all gave each other a big hug and she kisses her parents' cheeks. She lets go and skips to class. Her mother and father held each other's hands.

"There goes my little baby," she said, holding back her tears.

"Awwww honey, it's okay," he smiled. "It's something we all go through."

Amy looks around her classroom to find many kids running around and being loud. She smiles and takes a seat. As the teacher comes into class, all the students immediately run to their seats to sit down. The teacher smiles.

"Good morning, class," she said, "my name is Mrs. Anderson and I will be your teacher for Kindergarten."

"Good morning, Mrs. Anderson!" said the entire class.

"My, you are all very good today," she smiled. "Now then, for kindergarten, I shall teach you all your alphabet and basic skills of math. Don't worry, it won't be hard as long as I am here to teach and help you. But before we do that, let us all introduce ourselves. We'll start from this row, and then it will go all the way down over here."
