I wake up seeing my brother in my bed and his arms wrapped around me softly. Did I sleep walk to his bed last night, I ask myself. I look around only to find out he had crawled to me. He really is the strongest person I will ever know. I know he'd like some food when he wakes up. I start to slowly crawl out of bed hoping not to wake him up. As I start to walk away I hear, "Where are you going?" Darn I've failed, "I'm going to get you food is there something in particular you'd like." I look back at him and he had fallen back to sleep. He's so cute.

I head down to the cafeteria down stairs. To my surprise they are just now unlocking the door. The nurse looks back at me and smiles, "Can I help you Lilly?" I'm not really shocked that she knows my name. I've been here so long that most of the nurses have learned all about my brother and me. "I came to get Logan some food. Got anything good today?" I asked kindly. "I just might have something," the nurse told me as she opened the door.

I walked in slowly and scanned the room. It looked a lot like the cafeteria at school I guess. It had those weird show cases and kept the food in some type of metal bowls. As I followed the way to walk I noticed the cashers at the end. There were exactly two rows that went like that. On the other side the room are two giant glass fridges that held cold items like drinks, cake and pie.

The nurse smiled watching me inspect the room, "Is there any specific food Logan wanted?" I shook my head, "But I know what he likes. Yogurt, cooked vegetables, and some type of meat would do just fine." The nurse quickly got to work. Once she finished putting it together she put it on a tray and placed a lid on top to keep it warm. "It's a little heavy. Would it be alright if I carried it up for you?" I nodded my head, "Thank you." The nurse started walking out the cafeteria and turned around looking at me, "You coming sweetheart?"

I nodded and skipped out the room, shutting the door behind me. She gave me one last look before we both walked to the elevator. I pushed the button with the arrow pointing up and the door automatically opened. We both walked in and I pushed the number 4 button. The nurse looked at me as the doors closed, "If your brother is feeling better tomorrow you can go home and we can give him medication for the pain." I just couldn't believe her words. I want to go home for this new start.

As we reached Logan's door we could hear Logan speaking to someone. I tried to open the door but it was locked. "Mis.Beth must be getting Logan's side of what had happened to him. You can't interfere so its best you stay out of the room till it's over. I'll give Logan his food alright?" I nodded and turned around and walked to the wall, leaning agents it. I stood there watching her knock on the door and slipping through a small crack.

It was about noon when Mis.Beth walked out the room, I was sitting on the floor with my arms laying on my knees and head down. She made her way towards me. I looked up at her to see tears running down her cheeks. I took a closer look and noticed red eyes and pail skin. She hugged me tightly. What did Logan tell her? What made her so upset? All she needed was his side of the story.

After crying for a while she picked me up and carried me to my brother. She laid me next to him while he slept. She looked at me with that same pail face and spoke with a cracked and sore voice, "Stay with him...He's been through a lot and what he wants more than anything right now ....is to be close to you. Just hold onto him." I told her I would as she walked out the door.

She didn't come back after that. As the day started to fall I found it was difficult to sleep. All I could think about was her face and how upset she was. It also didn't help that I could hear sirens going off a lot. I walked to the window to see what was going on. Immediately I spotted about 20 police cars. Has it gotten so bad that so many police cars had to be sent out? There didn't seem to have any crime when I lived with George. I went back to Logan and saw that he was back to sleep. I crawled into the other bed trying to at least get some sleep.

"Wake up Lilly! Wake up! Mis.Beth is here to take us to her home! Wake up!" a voice said as it shook me. I slowly opened my eyes to find Logan smiling at me in some community cloths. "Better hurry up, Mis.Beth wants to leave." I can't remember the last time my brother was this happy. I quickly jumped out of bed and grabbed everything that was mine, which really wasn't much, and bolted to Mis.Beth's car.

I climbed into the back seat of the patrol car. Mis.Beth looked at me in the rearview mirror, "Ready to go home?" I nodded and Logan said, "Please I need a real bed." We all laughed at his strange comment. The whole car ride to her house was real quite. Mis.Beth was concentrating on the road and Logan was looking out the window in deep thought. I didn't want to ruin the moment of peace so I lowered my head and thought of my new home.

When she pulled into the drive way, Logan couldn't wait to get out of the car. When the car finally stopped he quickly jumped out and rushed toward the front door. I was so deep in thought, I hadn't processed what had happened around me. Mis.Beth came to my door and opened it. She inspected the door and said, "There is no child lock on the door. Why didn't you get out of the car and come inside?" I shook my head to protest, "I want to know why there were so many police cars patrolling the town last night?" Mis.Beth was shocked by my question.

"Your brother gave us a small piece of paper that held all the names that beat him. In my response to this piece of information, I gave it to the police department in that town and they sent fleets of police cars to track these men down. He also requested that we give a big thanks to the woman that had helped him out the most in desperate times." I looked down, "Was there really that many?" I asked. Mis.Beth hugged me, "Yah, there was." Once she pulled away she told me to head inside and stop thinking of that night. It really didn't take long for those bad thoughts to exit my mind. Walking inside the home it made me too happy to remember the events of the bad days.
