~ Daryl's POV ~
I felt a jolt and sudden pressure in my body as the tires of the truck ran over something in the road, sending the truck into the air as it began to continuously flip. Ear piercing sounds of metal bending and crunching along with the sound of glass breaking nearly blew my ear drums to pieces like the glass that began to spray through the air.
The flipping halted to a abrupt stop and the nightmare had ended.
I barely managed to turn my head in Andy's direction, hoping and praying she was alright. But my eyes landed on her still, bleeding figure, I realized the nightmare hadn't yet ended.
It had just begun.
....................................................
Blackness surrounded me. I didn't feel pain. I didn't feel anything. Just the soothing feeling of being still. Being relaxed. For once in my life, I finally felt like tranquility had found me and tucked me into its' inviting arms. I felt at peace.
My leg began to tingle until it slowly turned to a hot pain. That pain quickly spread from my right thigh, throughout both my legs and up my entire body. Every inch of my body suddenly felt like it was glass being shattered with a baseball bat. My heart pounded in my ears then grew louder as it engulfed my thoughts and washed me from my tranquil state.
The darkness began to fade into a mixture of colors. Greens, browns and blues swirled together in my vision as my eyes fluttered open. A figure hovered over me, yelling something but the pounding in my ears drowned everything out. The white-hot pain in my leg only burned hotter as it spread like a wild fire throughout every cell in my body.
I fully opened my eyes to see a woman crouched over me, looking back and forth between me and something on the ground.
A searing pain struck in my thigh causing my back to jolt up from my laying position and let out a pained scream. My screams sounded muffled as the escaped my lips, so I swiveled my tongue in my mouth only to feel the dry texture of cloth against my tongue. It felt as if something sharp was slicing through my thigh, causing more agonizing moans to crawl out of my throat. Then suddenly, the sharp feeling fled from my thigh only leaving a hot sensation and the feeling of a warm liquid running down my thigh.
My vision blurred even more and my head began to spin until I collapsed from my upright position and fell back on a soft surface.
Every ounce of pain drained from my body as I began to melt into the soft, warm feel of cotton sheets.
The sound of quiet footsteps lingered in the halls until they grew louder and louder.
A light chuckle fluttered in the air, taking me by surprise and startling me. "You always love when I wash the sheets." A soft voice stated.
I moaned into the pillow in agreement. "Yeh, cause nobody ever washes nothin' round here." I replied with a throaty chuckle.
The weight shifted on the bed. I turned over on my back looked up to meet my favorite pair of soft, green eyes. Andy sat on the side of the bed. Her long, brown hair fell down her back and over her shoulders in small, messy curls. She wore a gray tank top and a pair of my long, black sweat pants. Her light skin was shining in the sunlight that poured into the room from the large window across from her causing a small twinkle in her eyes to flash.
