I continued to clean around. I always clean when I'm nervous about something. Currently, I was dusting the cabinets and sweeping the living room. Stopping when there was absolutely nothing left to clean, I looked at the clock above the wooden frame entrance to the hallway. Each of the hands informed me that it was already 7:30 p.m. The light that was streaming through the windows was no more, but now replaced with darkness.
I sat on the couch and began to watch tv. I really had nothing to do and it was a Saturday after all. I flipped through the channels until I wandered upon Teen Wolf reruns. I have to say, this show is pretty good. I really like it. I love the way Scott is so in love with Allison and how funny Styles is.
I ended up going through around 3 episodes. I looked at the clock once again and it was already 8:45. My parents should be home by now. Picking up my phone, I dialed my mother's number and silently waited. It rang about three times before she answered.
"Mom?" I said turning down the volume of the tv.
"Oh Kristi! Sorry, your brother got homesick and didn't want to spend the night at Spencer's. We will be home soon." She replied interrupting her sentence once in a while to give my father directions.
"Okay." I said.
"See you soon."
"Bye" I responded before hearing the beep indicating that she hung up. Spencer's house is around thirty minutes away, so I should have some time to enjoy at least one more episode.
Watching the characters snack on some food made me remember that I never had dinner. My stomach grumbled before I could even think. I clenched my hand around my torso trying to calm it's noises. I walked back into the kitchen and stared into the fridge.
It was empty.
What was I going to tell my parents? Oh Niall's insane ex-girlfriend poisoned all the food to kill me, so I had to throw it away.
No way would they believe that. As I was thinking of a couple of strategies, my stomach cried out yet again, but ten times louder. I really need to eat. Maybe I could ask my mom to pick up. I called her once more.
"Hey can you pick up some food? There's nothing at home." I said into the phone.
"I'm sure you can find something. Don't we have some pasta leftover from Wednesday?" She suggested.
"No. Its all gone. There's literally nothing." I said. Immediately, I covered my mouth with my hand. How did I let that slip out?
"Alright. Drama Queen. We'll pick up some Sonic." She laughed. Drama Queen? Whatever, I'll take it.
"Thank you."
"Hot-dog for you?" She responded. My stomach grumbled as if replying with a big 'YES'.
"Yess pleasse." I answered.
"Okay see you soon."
"Bye." I said before clicking the off button. I patted my stomach telling it that food was coming and sighed feeling proud that I got myself out of trouble. Talk about killing two birds with one stone.

I laid down in my bed satisfied from eating. I could just fall asleep with the close of one eye, but I didn't want to. Pulling the blankets up, I hugged my pillow in my arms and stared blankly across the room. I didn't feel like going to sleep even though I knew I should.
My eyelids grew heavy trying to drag me into dreamland. I blinked attempting to resist the sensation taking over with no success. I drifted into a deep slumber as the air conditioner kicked on. A breeze flew through my room as I slipped into the depths of my mind.
