"T-that w-was grr-great. I d-didn't know y-you felt that w-wayy ab-bout me.." He licked his lips while flickering his big eyes down at my lips. He crept closer and leant down for more.
"No. Niall. That was fake. Just for show. No feelings whatsoever! I did that to make her mad." I explained.
"You can't kiss like that and not feel something. Tell me you felt something." He demanded with a sad look in his eyes.
"Www-well. I did feel a little of something. But not much." I confessed. I really did feel kind of a spark but not much.
It's just that another side of me feels like I just made out with my brother. Blechh. Gross.
"Be my girlfriend." He pleaded.
"What? NIALL. DO YOU KNOW WHAT YOU'RE SAYING?" I whispered/screamed.
"Yes. I know exactly what I'm saying." He smiled waiting for me to respond.
This was all so sudden. I didn't know how to reply.
"I just don't k-know..." I managed to say. I'm still trying to recuperate from my last terrible relationship. Dylan used to kiss me like that when he was nice.... Maybe that's another reason why I didn't feel that much of a spark.
"Let's go get checked out." I blurted out changing the subject. He frowned.
"But-" he began.
I turned my back to him and zoomed off towards the cash registers with the cart. I paid for all the decorations and walked through the exit doors with Niall lingering at my heels.
We lifted all the groceries into the back and climbed into the car. I took the key out of my purse and reached to put it into the ignition. I was stopped by Niall's hand covering the keyhole. I was kind of surprised that I've gotten this far without another word from Niall, but I knew the car wouldn't be silent for long.
"Niall." I stated trying to remove his hand. He cupped his free hand around my face and placed his lips on mine.
Then it hit me. I felt a full array of fireworks shoot off in the sky. He kissed with so much passion and love. We moved together once again. Thoughts from my old relationship were erased and the brother figure feeling, gone. How could he have this much of an effect on me?! Maybe because I wasn't thinking about making another girl jealous, I could actually focus on him.
"Now. Look me in the eyes and tell me that you didn't feel ANYTHING." He stared at me and waited for an answer.
"I didn't- ok I did." I admitted, "But. What will the guys say if we start dating. Plus I don't want to ruin our friendship." I was speaking fast and thousands of 'what ifs' flooded my mind. He ran his hand through his blonde hair shaking it nervously.
"From previous experience, I know how this goes. Best friends date. Epically crash and burn later. Then act like nothing ever happened." I continued. The cliché story was our situation, but I knew the ending. And I didn't want it to happen, this destroying us and leaving only memories behind.
"You and I both know, that will never happen." He held my hand rubbing circles with his thumb, "plus I will never treat you like Dylan did. I know you won't ever trust anyone again to hold your heart after what he did." Niall was my go-to guy friend with the Dylan issue. He knows everything.
"Promise?" I asked. I cant be treated like that again. I know Niall would never hurt me, but that's what I thought about Dylan at first..
"Promise." Niall smiled and pecked my lips.
Now that I think about it. Niall would be an excellent boyfriend. He wasn't a cheater. He was caring and lovable. Not to mention a decent kisser and he has a funny side too. He was basically the perfect package. I guess I can just see how this goes... Maybe for a little while. Kind of like a test run... But no one else could know. I'm not ready for the guys and girls to know yet.
"I guess we can try. But don't tell the guys or the girls just yet. Ok?" I gave into his wide eyed grin.
"THANKYOU THANKYOU THANKYOU THANKYOU THANKYOU THANKYOU!" He whispered/screamed attacking me with kisses all over my face.
"Ok. Enough with the kisses for now!" I squealed. I need my space. For the past thirty minutes we've been all over each other. I need a break.
"Awwwweee." He pouted and moved his hand from the key hole so I could start the car. I laughed at his disppointment.
I started the engine and we left Walmart.
The place where my bestfriend asked me out. Walmart.
Where he finally confessed his feelings for me. Walmart.
Why couldn't of been somewhere else. I mean really?!
"Wait pull over." He commanded snapping me out of my thoughts.
"What?" I said right when he got out of the car and came to my door. It opened revealing the winking dirty blonde boy.
"My turn to drive." He unbuckled me and lifted me into the passenger seat. I gave in and let him put me in my seat. I buckled up and waited for the death that awaited me in the next couple of minutes. Just kidding. He's a good driver actually. But I just like to mess with him.
"Don't kill us." I teased while grabbing a hold of the safety bar on the car roof.
"Your BOYFRIEND would never let his princess get hurt." He smiled emphasizing 'boyfriend' and drove us back to Zayn's house.
Princess? I'm his princess now? How cheesy can he get?!
......
Hmmm...
I like it.
