I don't know how much time Devil and I spent staring at each other. Eventually he sat down next to me and the class quieted down. Teacher turned back to his black board and continued sharing his knowledge, that wasn't all that wanted. I turned to Dev and whispered:
"Dev...What are you doing here?"
"What do you mean I'm doing here? I'm here just I have something to take care of as the ruler of...you know. I'm here purely because of business and it has nothing to do with you."
"Is that so? Why are you in my class, then?"
"I would tell you, but I have to respect my client's privacy."
"You mean your privacy."
"I would respond, but, like I said, client's privacy."
"Who is your client?" I said suspiciously.
"Me-I mean she, wishes to stay anonymous. You really should respect that."
I just shook my head at that. In a way, he was right. Whatever was the reason that he came here, it was none of my business. I turned around and started listening our teacher. He was talking about circles again. Why always circles. This is discrimination towards other shapes. I say free the shapes!
Thankfully the bell rung ten minutes later and brought me from my revolutionary thoughts. I stood up, gathered my things and left the classroom, without looking at Dev.
On my way to the class I heard that annoying sound. It was the sound of heels clicking in an unnerving rhythm. I looked around frantically. I had to hide or get to the classroom. I couldn't let her get me this time, because Dev was in the school. I had no idea what he would do, if he found out who was hurting me all this time. And I sure as hell wasn't planning to find out either.
I ran towards the classroom with all my strength. But, I have to admit, that all my strength wasn't all that extraordinary. I knew that all those hours of me lying in front of the TV, would get their revenge.
I almost made it to the classroom, but then a manicured hand stopped me.
"Well, well, well what do we have here?" said Stephanie in that high-pitched voice of hers. I hated it.
I looked down and said nothing. I just wanted this to over with.
"What did I say about looking people in the eye, when they are talking to you? Do I need to remind you?" she said while grabbing my hair. I closed my eyes and waited for the hit. But it never came.
"What the hell?" I heard Stephanie murmuring to herself.
I slowly opened my eyes and looked around. I quickly figured out what was confusing Stephanie.
The lights. They were flicking on and off in an unnerving patter. I'm not going to lie. It scared me. It almost looked supernatural. Wait a second...
"Aaaaah! What the hell!" Stephanie screamed when a light almost fell on her head. I turned around just in time to see her run away.
I kept standing in the same place with my eyes closed. I only opened when I felt a presence behind me. I smiled a small smile.
"Hi, Dev."
I felt his arms wrap around me from behind. I turned around and cuddled into his chest,
"Did I scare you?" he said in a small voice. It almost sounded like he was...nervous? Why would he be nervous?
I shook my head and stood still. I just wanted this moment to last a little longer. But as much as I liked our position, I needed answers. AndI wasn't the only one.
"That girl. Is she the one who...hit you?" I just nodded.
"Don't do anything to her, Dev. She's not worth it. Promise me you won't do anything to her. Please." I whispered.
"Are you hurt?" he asked instead of answering me. I sighed.
"Dev..."
"No, Heather. Are you hurt? Answer me."
I shook my head.
"No, I'm not hurt. But Dev, what happened with the lights?"
"Oh, the flicking? That's an old trick. It works every time." he said chuckling to himself. I rolled my eyes.
"What about the light that almost fell on Stephanie?"
"What light?"
"The light that fell from the ceiling. The one that almost fell on her."
"Never heard of it. You must have started imagining things. Poor you, you really did hit yourself hard, when you fell down the stairs."
"Dev! It's lying right there." I said angrily, pointing on the light lying on the floor.
"I don't see anything." he said looking me straight in the eye. I huffed angrily and turned around. I picked up my bag and started making my way down the hall.
"And who's going to clean the mess, you big fat hairball?" I said without looking back at him.
"What mess?" Dev said smugly. I turned around to see him following me in a careless manner. I looked behind him and saw...nothing. There was a clean hallway, like nothing ever happened there.
"What? H-how did you.." I stuttered, while looking at his smug face. He smiled at my confused face and winked at me.
"Magic," he said, before turning around and running out of the school like a little child.
"Hey! Where do you think you are going! Hey! Dev! Come back!" I screamed at him angrily. He only laughed in response and kept running.
I rolled my eyes and followed him out of the school. This is going to be fun.

Fiksi RemajaI remember it so clearly. It was a rainy day and I was sitting in my room wondering why was I so alone. I admit it, what I did next wasn't exactly the greatest idea I ever had. To put it nicely, I-Heather Samuels- summoned the Devil.
