Ch.4~Separated

((This is really a chapter that will help me get back into the story.))

You were on your next mission, in the next mansion. You wondered if King Boo took care of them all. You hated thinking about him, you wished you could stop. It was kind of hard to do with the mark on your neck. You also kept thinking about what he said about Luigi. You were worried about him. What if the rumors were true? You would feel horrible.

A ghostly giggle interrupted your thoughts. Luigi made a startled sound and got his Poltergust ready. You then heard a Boo giggle and sighed quietly.

"I think I heard something in that closet, I'll be right back." You began to walk away, but Luigi grabbed your arm.

"Ever since King Boo came to you, I don't think you're safe. You should stay with me..." He mumbled. You nodded and looked away, only to see Matthew a few feet away. He sighed and seemed to be thinking of something before he disappeared. Luigi let go of your arm and walked into another room, you following. All of the sudden, the doors slammed in front of you, separating you and Luigi.

"(Y/n)!" He furiously pounded on the door.

"Are you okay?!"

"Yes, I'm fine." You yelled through the door.

"Stay there! I'll find a way to get through!" He shouted. You nodded and walked away from the door so he couldn't hear you, and Matthew appeared in front of you.

"Man, he's attached to you. I'm not sure what to do." He mumbled.

"I feel bad... King Boo was telling me the story of how Luigi got all depressed..." You sighed.

"I heard my name..~?" King Boo suddenly appeared. Matthew's eyes widened and he instantly bowed down. You didn't do anything but stare.

"Oh darling, I forgot to tell you that I have a rule. Bow down before your king." He hit your legs with his staff, causing you to fall to your knees in pain. Matthew bit his lip and got up, helping you up.

"I separated them, l-like you asked... M-my lord..." Matthew mumbled. King Boo nodded approvingly before turning to you.

"That reminds me. Two more rules. You can only refer to me as Master, even if you mention me to anyone. Another rule, stay at least 3 feet away from Luigi, or something bad will happen...." King Boo smirked.

"But he won't let me leave his side!" You complained, only to have King Boo put a gloved finger to your lips.

"I'll warn him...." He whispered. You nodded slightly and he smiled, before disappearing. Matthew let out a deep sigh and scratched the back of his neck before letting the door open and disappearing. Luigi ran towards you before being dragged back by a shadow. He gasped and looked very frightened. King Boo replaced the shadow and smirked, holding onto Luigi.

"We have a rule, my dear friend. Stay away from my queen, 3 feet. Or else..." King Boo laughed before doing a back flip and disappearing. You heard a voice say show off, then a crazy laugh. It was Chris, but he was no where to be seen. Luigi's face went white and he had a hurt look in his eyes. You said nothing, but you were thinking about what King Boo had said.
His queen? You didn't even know that much about him!
You sighed before walking to the next room, Luigi sadly following.

"Hey, I'm sure we'll be able to hang out outside of the mansions, you know." You tried to make him feel better. You kept thinking about the rumor. You then felt a dark presence enter the room. You shook it off and kept going. The DS suddenly began to ring. Luigi took it out.

"Hey, I'm going to need to bring you guys back! I need to do more research before you guys go further." The professor said. Luigi nodded and you were both pixelated back. You took your gear off and stretched, going into the bathroom to change. You could hear Professor and Luigi talking.

"How's she treating you, lad?" The professor chuckled. Luigi sighed deeply and looked down.

"Professor, I'd rather not talk about it. We don't have a chance." Luigi mumbled.

"Hmm, why?" Professor asked. Luigi looked at him before saying, "She's claimed by their king." The professor went white and jumped.

"T-The King?! B-but?!" Professor yelped.

"She thought I didn't see the mark on her neck...." Luigi sighed again. Your eyes widened. You realized you weren't hiding your mark well. You sighed and stared into the mirror, running a finger over the mark.
Out of all people, why you?
You shook your head and changed before walking out, your other belongings in a bag over your shoulder.

"I'm going home..." You mumbled, glancing at Luigi. You stared before walking out, your head low.

Your life was a total mess.
How would you fix it now?
You didn't want anyone to die over you. It might be the only choice...
