Ch.7~Something Always Happens

"Luigi, don't!" You cried out. You stood in front of King Boo, protecting him from Luigi. He glared at you and suddenly threw you to the side, where you tripped on King Boo's crown. You fell on it, and it cracked. However, you felt great pain and something leaking from your stomach. You looked down to see blood. The shards had gotten stuck inside of you.

"N-No.." King Boo looked at you, and Luigi's eyes widened with disbelief. He couldn't believe he did something like that.

"How did it break so easily..?" Luigi mumbled, and King Boo glared at him.

"You idiot! It's magic! Dark magic! Now it's.." He stopped himself, watching you. You groaned and fell to your side, clutching onto your stomach as blood soaked your shirt. You looked at King Boo, and his eyes widened suddenly. You gave him a confused look. King Boo had seen something in you. Something odd. Your eyes had flashed black, before going back to normal.

The incident didn't stop Luigi however. He powered up the Poltergust, aiming it at King Boo. King Boo's eyes widened and he yelped, feeling his bottom half getting sucked away. He turned himself onto his stomach and began clawing at the ground, trying to escape. You watched, unable to do anything.

The shards were slowly sinking deeper into your skin, because they were taken over by dark magic. They would keep going until they were in you, and who knows what would happen then. King Boo knew, but he was in no condition to stop and talk about it.

King Boo escaped the powerful pull of the Poltergust and stood, growling. Something odd began to happen to him. His eyes grew black circles underneath them and his eyes were turning red instead of their normal black.

"You want to fight, Luigi? I'll give you a damn fight! Let's play this fair," King Boo cracked his knuckles and circled Luigi, looking him up and down. He seemed to be in deep thought before he grinned sadistically.

"Your brother gets the princess each time and never needs your help. He's always congratulated and the center of attention. Hell, everyone knows who your brother is,"
"but who are you? You, my friend, are an Italian guy that happens to have a haunted mansion. You're known for fighting ghosts, which many people don't believe in. They think you're crazy, don't they?"

Luigi went to say something, but King Boo cut him off. You could tell what King Boo was doing, and damn it you wanted to stop it. He was going to keep saying things until Luigi lost it, emotionally. You wouldn't want that for anyone. Imagine being told everything wrong with you and someone listing all of your insecurities. A king, disrespecting you completely.

"I-"

"Luigi, I'm not done. Mario, your brother, is known by everyone for fighting a great big beast that captured a princess. He went from being no one to this world's greatest hero. Who did you save trying to beat me all those years? Your brother? And that's because people thought he was kidnapped by someone who wasn't a ghost. They also only went to you because they knew you were his brother. After you get your brother back, you'll be nothing,"
"nothing but a shadow of your bother. I'm doing you a favor by taking him away, don't you see?"

King Boo stopped in front of a door and clapped his hands together. "Don't you want to be a hero, Luigi?"

Luigi found himself nodding, almost as if he were hypnotized. King Boo smirked and looked to you, nodding a bit to tell you he would help you in a second. You gave him that look as if saying 'No no, it's okay, I'm only bleeding to death, it's fine.'

"You can be a hero, Luigi.." King Boo snapped, and two cages appeared on either side of him. You saw two girls in the cages. One had an orange dress, and the other had a pink dress. You gasped painfully and looked at King Boo. It was Daisy and Peach, of course. The princesses.

"Luigi! H-Help us!" Daisy yelped, but King Boo let out a laugh. He put up the painting of Mario and set it against Peach's cage.

"Princesses, I'm sure you remember your old friends too, don't you?~" King Boo turned, and the door flew open. Two men came out. One looked heavily built and the other had a hood over his head. You managed to sit up and lean yourself against a wall, the pain slowly subsiding.

"N-No, you did not-" Luigi stepped back, dropping the Poltergust.

"Oh yes, I did. Welcome my old pals, Bowser and Petey!" King Boo giggled, and Bowser let out a threatening roar. Luigi didn't know how to defeat the two. He was only ever prepared to fight ghosts, not a dinosaur and a giant plant.

"Luigi!" A voice yelped, and suddenly someone else was there. It was the professor. With another Poltergust. King Boo's eyes widened and he growled, looking at Petey and Bowser. They both transformed into their main forms rather than human, but the professor managed to slip by and quickly free Mario from the painting. Luigi stood there in shock, unable to process what was going on.

King Boo shook his head, obviously mad. He ran over to you and kneeled down, lifting your chin.

"Are you okay? How are you feeling? I'm so sorry, I can't fix this right now." King Boo frowned, pulling you close. You whined and rested your head against his chest.

"Don't leave me.." You said weakly, looking up at him. He wrapped his arms around you carefully.

In the background, Mario had been released and the two brothers, plus the professor, were teaming up to defeat Petey and Bowser. That wasn't your focus however. You felt the pain again and you groaned, squeezing King Boo. He frowned and laid you down, lifting your shirt. He winced at the amount of blood, seeing that your skin was becoming purple but pulsing black. It was because of the crystal shards stuck, and it hurt.

"(Y/n)... I know it hurts... But.." King Boo looked at you, running a hand through your hair. You looked up at him.

"It's tradition."

"W-What-?" You looked at him. Tradition? For what? Why was it such a painful tradition?

King Boo lifted his own shirt, and there were odd black symbols on his stomach and chest. Your eyes widened and you sat up slightly, looking at your own. The same symboles were beginning to form, and the purple bruising was going away, as well as the blood.

"(Y/n)... You're my queen now."
