He screamed her name, his brown eyes unable to accept what was happening. Not being able to move, she wanted to tare away from the magic that was holding her back and jump to his side, to safety. Watching him reach out for his sword, but being too late, she felt her body drifting down a deep hole and she woke up in a sweat on an unfamiliar bed. Running her eyes through her surroundings, Angelina stood up from the bed she was in. Her clothes were still on and she thanked God in her head for that. Cautiously standing up she quickly laid back down as the floor under her feet squeaked and she heard footsteps. Covering her face with the bed sheet, she heard someone walk in and slowly near the bed.

"I know you are awake," she heard the familiar voice of Edgar.

Angelina quickly turned around, "what happened?"

"Well, the shadows attacked us, I was trying to kill them, but you did it instead. I think I should be the one asking what happened," he raised an eyebrow.

"Shadows?" Angelina stood up and started walking to the door when Edgar stopped her and pulled her back.

He yanked her to him, "you are not leaving until you explain yourself, and trust me I wouldn't want to hurt a girl, especially my friend."

"Why you are not what I expected at all!" Angelina jammed her heel into his foot and sprinted for the door. As she was about to grab the handle she was yanked back yet again.

Groaning she kept hitting at his arm around her waist, "why are you so fast."

"I'm a shadow hunter, I have to be fast." He whispered in her ear.

She stopped fighting. Turning around, she noticed that the blue in his eyes changed to a greener color. They both stared at each other, eyebrows furrowed. She couldn't tell if he was a danger or a help to her, all he said was that he was a shadow hunter, she could only hope that shadow hunters were the good guys. "What's a shadow hunter?"

"I guess I'd have to tell you at some point. Remember what I told you in the library about that realm of darkness. Well these creatures, shadows, they came to haunt me from that realm. Although this time they took a liking to you I supposes. The book told me something like this would happen." Edgar explained.

Angelina was confused, she remembered her dream and partially remembered what she was searching for, "the book? What book? What realm are you talking about?"

Smirking, as if even the name brought horror to someone's heart Edgar spoke, "the world of Charn."

She heard that somewhere before, the name did sound familiar. The realization only hit her when she thought of a cold dark place that only the white witch would come from, remembering that Edmund told her of the witch's origin and where she came from. "Charn, that is where the white witch comes from!"

"The white witch?" Edgar asked.

"Yes, she's been terrorizing Narnia for ages and even when Aslan killed her she still came back as a ghost of some sort, stronger, and controlling the Narnians to do her ways." Angelina started walking in circles putting the puzzle pieces together.

Edgar followed, "you mean she came back as a shadow. People from Charn don't die, they only become the oblivion of themselves. Dark matter."

"That's how the witch is still alive! You," she pointed to him, "you are a shadow hunter, you have to tell me how to defeat her."

"Sorry, I'm afraid only a shadow hunter can defeat a shadow. Except-you did just defeat that shadow in the library, how did you do that?" She didn't want to answer him, for answering meant revealing her identity and she didn't yet know if she could trust him completely.
