The three of them somehow made it to an old looking cottage styled house that was a good walk away from the train station. Edgar had pulled out a spare key from under a rock in the front garden. Opening the door he helped Edmund in.
Angelina dropped her bag to the floor as soon as she walked in, following Edmund into the living room. It was dusty, covered in white sheets so that the furniture would not be damaged. Pulling off the white covers from the couch, she helped him sit down. Edgar came from another door with a glass of water and handed it to him.
"The water from the pump should be fine, but the pipes are probably not in their best shape after all these years.
"What is this place?" Edmund asked, analyzing his surroundings.
Edgar smirked, "this is a cottage that belonged to great uncle Eustace Scrubb,"
Almost choking on his water Edmund pulled the cup away from his lips, "Eustace?"
"Yeah, I think his parents passed it onto him or something, they all died anyway so now it's just here, but he lives in London now, so he won't be coming here anytime soon." Edgar explained.
Edmund smirked, "Eustace is in London." He remembered how his although annoying yet resilient cousin decided to head back home after his adventures in Narnia.
Edgar cleared his throat, "I will get some rooms ready I guess, and then I will ride back to London to get some things," he tossed the keys to Angelina, "there is a grocery store down the street, should be opened, but it closes at 6, so you better hurry."
Making sure that Edmund was alright on his own, they both left. Edgar seemed to be very focused on something that was on his mind. His eyebrows wouldn't shut up about it. Angelina sighed, getting his attention.
He turned to her and wrapped an arm around her shoulders, "he's going to be fine, he's a Pevensie and the most stubborn one at that!"
Angelina rolled her eyes to look at him and smirked, "yeah, you're right, it's Edmund."
*----*
Not being able to stay put, Edmund pulled himself off the couch and started taking down the sheets of white that were covering the furniture. One of them were covering a bookcase with glass doors. He noticed that there were a couple of photographs there, framed. Smiling to himself he ran his thumb across Lucy's face. Lucy, he was worried about her. He had to get back to Narnia, his siblings life depended on it. He made his way upstairs, looked at the room Edgar prepared for him, or at least opened the door to. Kneeling down at the bed, he hung his head as if in devastation. Closing his eyes, Edmund took in the smell of dust and old bed sheets. Realization hit him, this was a house where Eustace once lived, if only the little rascal still had the portrait of the Dawn Treader, they could get back to Narnia! Pushing himself back up he realized that perhaps it was in his best interests to rest.
Coming back down to the couch in the living room, he let himself drift off into a restful sleep. His dream was brief, something he recalled about Narnia. The second he woke up from sounds coming from what seemed to be the kitchen, Edmund was disoriented again, and then he remembered where he was. He was in London, in the future. His side didn't hurt anymore and he got up. He was wrong, it still hurt. Grabbing it instantly he sat back down. However, curiosity got the better of him and he made his way deep into the house to find whoever was making those noises.
Peaking into the kitchen he watched as Angelina was busy behind a stove. She was mixing something in a pan, and distracted by something else she stirred it a little too hard and it spilled over on her hand a little.
